I am about to order a Mycodome online, but I, unfortunately, know very little about growing shrooms. Are there any suggestions for what spores I should get? Do some mushrooms grow easier than others? I would like to get the ones that grow the easiest, but aren't shitty. This might be a lot to ask, but I really don't want to waste 250+ bucks... let me know.
i guess no one knows... hmm... does anyone know if using the mycodome requires transplanting them outdoors? because that is just not possible for me.
im pretty sure that you dont ever have to transplant mushrooms... they arent typically known for a long lifespan anyways... dont piss away your money on a mycodome unless you have all sorts of knowlege on mushies.. just stick with rice cakes in large, sterile mason jars... get psilocybe cubensis spores... and www.shroomery.org has everything you need... and i think i remember hearing someone saying www.mushroompeople.com or .org or themushroompeople.com or org or net or whatever..
I heard that a mycodome was basically the beginners way to grow mushrooms. It did everything for you and kept everything at the right temperature so you didnt have to continually check up on it. Was I misinformed? I don't mind spending the money if I am able to grow a reasonable amount of shrooms in an easier way. Is there something easier than the mycodome?
Erowid has all the good answers. Check "cultivation and storage". http://www.erowid.org/plants/mushrooms/mushrooms.shtml
www.shroomtalk.com is a forum owned by the people who make mycodome; theres a lot of info on that sie
250$ is a waste. You can get everything you need for around 80$. Like someone else said go to www.shroomery.com
All I've spent to get me up and running was 44$ Canadian. Spores, vermiculite, brown rice flower, containers.
is there any smell that comes from growing mushrooms? I would like to grow them in my room at home and at school, but if there is a noticeable smell then I have that to be concerned about as well.
