Trump reportedly 'f---ing hates' Ron DeSantis As former President Donald Trump possibly eyes a 2024 run, a new report suggests there's one other potential contender whose popularity he really "resents": Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R). A report from Vanity Fair this week delves into how various Republicans are "testing the waters" for the 2024 presidential primaries in case Trump doesn't decide to seek the GOP nomination, and among the likely contenders in that scenario would be DeSantis. But the report describes the fact that the Florida governor's "biggest challenge" may be his "fraught relationship" with the 45th president.
Although it's obvious, let's point out that the above paragraph covers only what Republican candidates have to worry about for the next couple of years. Since Trump doesn't have the 'inconvenience' of having to run a country interfering with his presidential plans, he'll have plenty of time to attack people of both parties. He'll be going after anyone that gets in his path and we know that whatever comes out of his mouth will be fervently believed and accepted by tens of millions of Republican voters.......including those that should know better that unite behind Trump. For example, do you think that Ted Cruz will want to run again? Unless public opinion about Trump changes drastically between now and the 2024 election, Cruz has to know he doesn't have a chance against the man, doesn't he? As well, others that might have wanted to run (some of whom would surely be better presidents than Trump) will never make those intentions known because of their fear of Trump. Republican lawmakers are intelligent people. Their ideology is too conservative for my tastes but they know what's best for our country even if they won't say it outright. It has to gall them to support a man that represents such a grave threat to democracy, law & our standing in the world. Yet, they feel compelled to back him anyway. Plus, can you imagine waking up the day after Election Day and finding that Trump holds the top office again? How would that make you feel?
GOP potential candidates for president in 2024 have to walk a tight rope of trying to ride Trump's coattails while at the same time hiding from him the fact that they plan to run against him, which will trigger his ire like it did when Trump figured out that DeSantis wants to be president. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/09/03/prepare-longest-presidential-campaign/ excerpt: "4. It will help freeze the field. Right now, potential Republican 2024 candidates are in the awkward position of having to figure out how to ally with Trump (and avoid irritating the most-vocal part of the Republican base) while positioning themselves to potentially run against him. "
Donald Duck is 75 years old, and would probably die on the campaign trail, but the thought of not running his mouth nonstop in front of as many people as possible, is unacceptable.
Trump rioter busted. Elk Grove Village man charged with breaching US Capitol during Jan. 6 riot excerpt: "Marcos Gleffe, 38, was charged in a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., with unlawfully entering a restricted building and disorderly conduct on U.S. Capitol grounds, according to court records filed Thursday in Chicago. The charges are misdemeanors. Gleffe was arrested Thursday morning and appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Maria Valdez, who released him on an unsecured bond. Gleffe’s court-appointed attorney, Jack Corfman, declined to comment on the case. Gleffe is the 14th Illinoisan to be charged in the Capitol breach, part of a criminal investigation prosecutors have described as one of the largest in American history."
Trump caused one of the largest criminal investigations in the history of the U.S. with his insurrection at the Capitol. He hasn't acknowledged it, which is unusual considering how he is always using superlatives to describe acts he has done (or thinks he has done).
Donald Duck got five cops killed, almost got a senator killed, but is still a free man. He has no reason to acknowledge a damned thing, which is a waste of his breath, when he can attack anything and everything, with impunity.
Trump never admitted to the risk of contracting the coronavirus at his Tulsa rally in June 2020, including the risk to Herman Cain who attended the rally, later tested positive, and died of COVID. Vaccines hadn't yet become available, but Trump wanted to resume his in-person, crowded, mask-less campaign rallies which have been like an addiction to him. After his death, Trump denied Herman Cain contracted it at his Tulsa rally. He also used Cain's death to insult China by saying Cain died from the 'China virus'.
Sullivan is known as Jayden X on Youtube. He filmed the confrontation at the door of the Speaker's Lobby and other locations during the Capitol riot. 'I Don't Think She Deserved to Die': Black Activist Who Filmed Ashli Babbitt Shooting Speaks Out excerpt: "One doesn’t need to approve of Sullivan’s methods to be gripped by the the front-row view of rebellion that his footage offers. Sullivan says he was floored by the feeble resistance of the police defending the nation’s Capitol, saying it was “nothing” compared to what BLM activists encountered when he filmed protests last year in Oregon. “In Portland protests and riots, there’s tear gas where you can’t even see in front of you,” he says. The use of crowd control agents at the Capitol was “anything but that,” he says. “It’s hard to fathom.”"
Trump in advanced talks to sell D.C. hotel excerpt: "Former President Trump is in advanced talks to sell rights to his Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., sources tell Axios. Why it matters: The removal of Trump’s big, golden name from Pennsylvania Avenue would be a symbolic bombshell savored by opponents. The historic building became a prop and symbol for both sides in the political wars. The hotel was a central setting during his chaotic presidency, with Trump preening at his personal table, and supporters and supplicants thronging the lobby bar and restaurants to curry favor. How it would work: Trump would sell the leasing rights to a real estate developer, who in turn would negotiate with hotel companies that would manage the property and rebrand it. Details of the deal’s terms aren't yet known but Trump’s representatives have been in talks with major hotel chains and investors. Trump, who initially tried to sell the leased federal property in the fall of 2019, declined Axios' request for comment. Sources said the former president is likely to get less than the $500 million he was reportedly seeking in 2019."
The zip-tie cuff stunt used by one of Trump's rioters at the Capitol may have spawned copycats. Angry Men With Zip-Ties Ambush School Principal After COVID Masking Request excerpt: "Two men accompanied Rambaran on Thursday as he ambushed Principal Diane Vargo while she sat with another educator at the Mesquite Elementary School in Tucson. One of the men, Kelly Walker, livestreamed the incident on his Instagram, explaining that Rambaran, who is also known as “Reese,” had called him and asked him to be there in case he needed backup. The third man, who has not been identified, stood in the doorway of Vargo’s office with a fistful of “law enforcement-grade” zip ties at the ready—as the trio was prepared to make a citizen’s arrest, Walker said. (The livestream video has since been deleted.)."
More madness related to the coronavirus and extreme views about it in the current political atmosphere. Illinois man killed half-brother by shooting him in the head during heated family argument over COVID-19 vaccines, police say excerpt: "Joseph E. Geyman, a 51-year-old corrections officer, died from injuries sustained by gunfire, police said. Johnson County Sheriff Pete Sopczak said that the half-brothers, who were also neighbors, argued over coronavirus vaccines late Saturday night (August 28) before Cavitt allegedly took out a gun and shot Geyman, Associated Press reported. There had been no physical altercation before the "senseless" shooting, Sopczak said."
excerpt: Cavitt was initially in custody at Massac County jail, police said, but he was released from jail on Tuesday after he posted bond. The bond was set at $750,000. Wonder where he got the $75k.
They should build Donald Duck's wall around Ohio, the state is spreading its inbred bullshit into Pennsylvania.
Point#5 It’s too late for Trump to cast these investigations as a politically motivated witch-hunt. That horse has run it’s race. When they get done with these investigations into the Trump businesses and the Jan 6th insurrection, he’s going to have more problems than a one legged man competing in an ass kicking contest!
McCarthy has changed his mind greatly about Trump's culpability in the insurrection at the Capitol. https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...arthys-baseless-claim-about-trumps-innocence/ excerpt: "On Jan. 13, McCarthy said in a House floor speech that Trump “bears responsibility” for the Capitol attack and even floated the idea of censuring Trump, though McCarthy did not support his impeachment. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and former president Donald Trump have expanded in recent months on what they said during their Jan. 6 call. (JM Rieger/The Washington Post) About two weeks later, after Biden had been inaugurated, McCarthy flew to Florida to meet with Trump. There, they discussed helping Republicans take back the House in 2022, and McCarthy praised Trump’s popularity as having “never been stronger.” Since then, McCarthy has steadily increased his defense of Trump’s response to the Jan. 6 violence and tried to walk back some of his earlier statements about Trump’s culpability. The House GOP leader in May also changed course and supported ousting Cheney, a vocal Trump critic, from her position as Republican conference chair. Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), who has embraced Trump, replaced Cheney in the No. 3 job in GOP leadership soon afterward. McCarthy has also intensified his attacks on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), first opposing a bipartisan commission to investigate Jan. 6, then pulling all GOP nominees for a bipartisan committee after Pelosi blocked two of McCarthy’s picks. He has since attacked the select committee, which includes Democrat and Republican members, as a “purely political” vehicle for Pelosi to attack Trump."
Trump reportedly nears DC hotel rights sale as ally says ‘I think he’s gonna run’ excerpt: "Trump businesses including the hotel and golf resorts have been hard hit by both the coronavirus pandemic and Trump’s election defeat. On Friday, the Washington Post reported “imploding tenants, political backlash and a broader, pandemic-related slump in Manhattan office leasing” at Trump Tower, in New York City. The hotel in Washington “used to be the hub of Trump World but I can’t imagine who goes there now,” Sally Quinn, an influential Washington author and journalist, told the Guardian in March. “ … I can’t imagine most people staying there when they come. I don’t know anybody who goes there or has gone there.”"
