remember back in the 90's, the height of computer graphics were those crazy organic sorta visual programs that created random, changing colours all over the screen? if you have the maze screensaver on windows, one of the wall textures is similar. I cant remember waht theyre called and most people i talk to dont seem to know what im tlaking about. but i really wanted to revive them and think theyd be interesting on drugs. can anybody help?
they were called VGA demos. created to demonstrate the new capabilities of the (new) VGA standard they used to be everywhere back then...
check out the gforce plugin for winamp. play whatever does it for ya, and watch that while lit up. Definitly reccommend that.
Yeah, sounds like you're talking about demos. They're easy to find, but many don't work, being coded for older operating systems, hardware, blah, blah... Try the winamp plug-ins like trotsky said, it's close enough to the same thing.
You might try Synthesoft's Psychedelic screensavers...honestly, Winamp's plug-ins just don't impress me much.
Winamp comes with something called Milkdrop, it's the best one I've ever seen that follows a long with the music. It's a total trip just to watch it for hours.
I have an aquarium. It is a free download but every now and then you get a pop up on the screen saver asking for money to make it disappear.
Synthesoft's Psychedelic Screensaver (it's sound-reactive): Those are in low resolution, it's much prettier with 32-bit color @ 1600 x 1200.
the commoners name on my com in 'beziers'. other thatn that, who do you think i am Steven Haawking? lol
Fractals are the best. It's like a common ground between stoners and programmers. I made a couple of my own back in the day, will post them later.
