“Sitting on the dock of the bay” withe my bride from 1966. We were sitting on the shore of Budd Bay, the tide rolling in, watching a tall ship come into port, Herons, Terns, Gulls, and Perigrine Falcons cavorting.
i was in tech school in the air force in billoxi mississippi, when ode to otis redding made the charts in 69 or 70. and of course all the radio stations were playing "dock of the bay" too. and on a copletely different note, scale and key, dr philogistron's "la vie and rose" seems to be stuck in my head. (and i doubt i've spelled any of it right and even more doubt anyone is going to find it on youtube. though it is on f.a.) i like the celtic version best for hector the hero, and i'd be very dissapointed if my guess is wrong that its and ode to a percheron (or some other large sturdy) draft horse.
Man, there’s so many of their songs I like! That “Classic Yes” album really helped me appreciate their music. “Starship Troopers” and “Wonderous Stories” are my favorites from that album.
When I was six Dad took me to the library for the first time. He suggested The Hobbit. I was hooked. Started to read at age three, bit of an early starter LOL.
