Growing mushrooms outdoors?

is there a way to get mushies to grow OUTSIDE?

what if i buried some pf cakes, like the kind you buy at www.pfjars.com ?

no, they'd get contaminated, unless they were fully colonized.

 

bury colonized PF cakes sandwiched in manure and straw a few inches into the ground.

 

There are alot of techniques to grow outdoors.

Simply make a casing and allow it to fully colonize. Bury it under a 1/2 of soil with some moist pasturized cow dung or chopped straw and then water heavily and cover with plastic to keep the area from drying out or just cover the area with straw. Keep an eye on the area and water it when it looks like it needs it.
