Oh man, just consider the implications of that! Not only would it solidify the Democrats majority in the Senate (presuming that other Dems don't get voted out in '22) but it might also bring about terrific dialogues between Romney, Cheney & Republican leadership"

GOP: "You guys can't denigrate the election steal by speaking your minds. It shows disloyalty to Trump & to the Republican party!"

Liz & Mitt: "Oh, yeah? You're denouncing us for defending democracy and now you want to talk about loyalty?"

I object to your calling him 'Richard.' Call him 'Dick'

That accurately reflects two things: his nickname and his personality as a legislator. :(

That's where I was going with it, Flaggie. The GOP does not own the monopoly on conservatism any-longer, not after Trumpism. Democrats have plenty of TRADITIONAL CONSERVATISM ... the old fashion kind without Altrightism. All they have to do is to put it on the TV ads. They need to keep talking to the people about repair of the country, economy, poverty, law enforcement, foreign policy, environment ... all of it. The GOP is now the party of NO-WE-WON'T-FUND-IT, because we don't want to pay taxes. While we are on this I also wish to add that Democrats need to talk about all the sex related crimes Republicans like Trump, Gaetz, Farenkopf, and Acosta engaged in. There were a couple other GOP guys, one who offered his help Five million to have his baby? The top GOP guy in the Ohio house got caught while he was taking it in the ass ... in his own office.

Remarks about Trump and the GOP by former Republican National Committee chair Michael Steele

'My, how the mighty have fallen': Lindsey Graham mocked by ex-RNC official for latest suck-up to Trump

    excerpt:

"'My, how the mighty have fallen and sunken to the lowest of lows that Donald Trump is your savior," he began. "The reality of it is Donald Trump five years ago was someone that everyone was like, 'why is he here?' and now they are kicking everyone else out of the room because he is here."

"It speaks of desperation -- desperation of leadership, desperation for ideas, desperation for a way to move the country forward and embrace its diversity," he continued. "That's what Liz Cheney is trying, has been trying to tell them and she has shown the leadership, which they are threatened by, as one of her caucus members put it, you know, 'she's like that girlfriend who doesn't listen to you.' Really? that's your go-to with Liz Cheney? That tells you where we are."

    Michael Steele - Wikipedia

    excerpt:

"Steele was openly critical of Donald Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign and has continued to oppose President Trump during his subsequent administration. In a January 2018 interview on MSNBC, in response to an accusation that President Trump had referred to El Salvador and Haiti as "shithole countries," Steele expressed his belief that the President was "racist."[71]

Steele reiterated his frustration with Trump and his supporters during the COVID-19 pandemic by saying "I’ve talked to enough of them over the last few days. I’m exhausted, I’m exasperated. You know, at this point, it’s like, save who you can save. Because there’s only so much you can do, there’s only so much you can say. The fact that we have to literally beg people to wear a mask to save their own dumb ass from getting sick, I’m sorry. To me, it is beyond the imagination... I am just so exhausted with this president".[72]"

    Spoof ad.

Nancy Pelosi mocks GOP men for being unable to handle party ‘girlfriend’ Liz Cheney

    excerpt:

"Pelosi’s staff sent out a spoof “help wanted” ad following talks of removing Ms Cheney from the party’s leadership over her vocal anti-Trump sentiments.

“Word is out that House GOP Leaders are looking to push Rep. Liz Cheney from her post as House Republican Party Chair – their most senior woman in GOP leadership – for a litany of very Republican reasons: she won’t lie, she isn’t humble enough, she’s like a girlfriend rooting for the wrong team, and more,” the ad says."

Trump is still regurgitating falsehoods about the election, six months later.

Trump's 'Big Lie' imperils Republicans who don't embrace it

Trump's 'Big Lie' imperils Republicans who don't embrace it

    excerpt:

"In a statement Friday, Trump asserted: “At 6:31 in the morning on November 4th, a dump of 149,772 votes came in to the State of Michigan. Biden received 96% of those votes and the State miraculously went to him.”

No vote dump happened. The morning after November’s election, Trump allies shared a map of Michigan that appeared to show Biden getting a huge spike of votes in an update. But the online news organization that was tracking results and published that map confirmed the same day it had made a data error and corrected it.

Trump went on: "Likewise, at 3:42 in the morning, a dump of 143,379 votes came in to the state of Wisconsin, also miraculously, given to Biden. Where did these ‘votes’ come from?”

Nothing nefarious here, either. Biden's early-morning comeback was simply the result of absentee and early votes being counted in Wisconsin’s largest city and reported at once. Milwaukee counts absentee ballots in one centralized location and reports the results in a batch.

Election officials finished counting the city’s roughly 169,000 absentee ballots and uploaded the results about 3 a.m. after Election Day. Milwaukee police then escorted the city’s elections director to the county courthouse to deliver thumb drives with the data.

The outstanding ballots at that point overwhelmingly broke for Biden. A Democrat winning in a big city surprises no one."

The fraud in MI that Trump alleged (and still alleges) was due to a typo that added a zero to a tally.

The total in Shiawassee County was 15,371, not 153,710

Fact check: Typo led to false post about Michigan votes for Biden

    excerpt:

"So where did the error begin? Several data hounds spotted the error in media compilations of state data.

The clerical error occurred in Shiawassee County and was quickly quickly caught, the New York Times reported. "All it was is there was an extra zero that got typed in," Abby Bowen, the election clerk, told the Times, according to reporter Jack Nicas. Bowen told the Times that a state official noted the error, contacted the county in about 20 minutes and the typo was fixed."

The republicans would have to spike the punch to get anyone to take those clowns seriously, after Donald Duck's election. Forget about comparing apples and oranges, they are the outhouses, and Donald Duck is the porcelain thrown.

I'm starting to think that's what it would take to get the GOP to wake up from its Trump-induced coma. We need for the Republicans to lose badly in the mid-terms, especially candidates that Trump endorses. But the mid-terms and a year and a half away, do we have to go through this ridiculous bullshit until then? And if the Repubs rebound in the mid-terms, then what?

When Trump was defeated we thought this drama was over but it's not. Hopefully he'll get hit with multiple convictions and speed up his downfall.

Bamboo ballots, death threats and an ultimatum: What's next for Arizona GOP's election audit? | 12news.com

    excerpt:

"There are an estimated 1.9 million ballots left to count. Bennett has not been able to provide precise numbers since the hand count started.

At the current pace, the recount won’t be done for another three months.

But Bennett told audit pool reporter Ben Giles of KJZZ on Friday that the count would conclude at the coliseum in the middle of June.

“There's another (event), I think it's a gun show or something, that starts in the first week of July,” Bennett said. “So I think we'll probably be done in the middle of June. But we have until the end of June to get the work done.”

The Crossroads of the West gun show usually books the coliseum in July."

AZ GOP Senate is demanding routers and passwords to examine truther narratives about outside interference in Maricopa County election via the internet and is threatening to issue subpoenas to election officials if they are not turned over.

Bamboo ballots, death threats and an ultimatum: What's next for Arizona GOP's election audit? | 12news.com

    excerpt:

"Why does Senate GOP want routers?

Bennett, the audit liaison, says the routers are needed to test another conspiracy theory -- whether the county’s ballot tabulators are connected to the internet.

“Well, there are people that have always suspected something nefarious about elections being connected to the Internet," Bennett said Saturday to audit pool reporter Dan Zak of the Washington Post. "And so I think that's why the request was made.

An independent audit done for the county earlier this year found there were no connections to the internet.

As for the passwords, the county says it doesn’t have them.

If Fann pursues the routers, a court fight appears likely - either by the County Board or the sheriff.

Chris Krebs, the former director of the Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, tweeted that if the demand for the routers isn't withdrawn, it will be a sign that the audit team is "seeking to disrupt ops & have no idea what they're doing.""

Door-to-door inspections have been put on hold.

Cyber Ninjas wants to go door-to-door to verify if voters they perceive as suspicious actually live at their stated residences.

Bamboo ballots, death threats and an ultimatum: What's next for Arizona GOP's election audit? | 12news.com

    excerpt:

"Fann appeared to back off the piece of the audit that’s come under the most strenuous legal attack: a plan by the audit leader, Florida-based Cyber Ninjas, to canvass voters’ homes in areas of Maricopa County where there were alleged voting “anomalies.”

The canvass is tied to another set of conspiracy theories: that there were large numbers of “dead voters” and that early ballots were sent to addresses where there were no voters.

In her response to the U.S. Department of Justice, Fann said: “The Senate determined several weeks ago that it would indefinitely defer that component of the audit.”

But Fann went on, for the first time, to lay out procedures the auditors would follow if the Senate did decide to canvass voters."

The lower courts tossed out and the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear the truther narrative case about a Korean airline allegedly bringing in illegal ballots for Biden in AZ.

Bamboo ballots, death threats and an ultimatum: What's next for Arizona GOP's election audit? | 12news.com

    excerpt:

"Brakey had first mentioned the bamboo ballot theory at a news conference with Bennett in late April.

The theory was a centerpiece of a Pinal County court filing last December that challenged the 2020 election results. Conspiracy theorist Staci Burk described a recording of a Southeast Asian airliner dropping off ballots on Election Night at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport.

Burk’s challenge was tossed out by lower courts. Earlier this month, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear it."

With any conviction Trump will tie it up with appeals for years, though it could keep him from running again.

As for dying, how does he die? If someone kills him he'd be a martyr to his misguided minions and the shit could hit the fan for awhile. If he dies of a heart attack there will be a conspiracy theory that he was poisoned. What we need is for him to be struck by lightning while speaking to a crowd of his supporters. :openmouth: There would be lots of witnesses who'd call it an act of God, might even turn some of them Democrat. :tongueclosed:

DeSantis is a clone of Trump.

DeSantis is delaying the special election of a vacant seat in a Democratic stronghold district all the way to January 11, 2022 to cripple the Democrats.

DeSantis the divider? His conservative agenda is designed for campaigns and comes with lots of opposition

    excerpt:

"The governor, who is up for re-election next year, is widely expected to seek the Republican presidential nomination in 2024.

He’s sought to brand himself, especially in the just-completed annual legislative session, as the potential candidate most closely aligned with former President Donald Trump — in both style and substance — with priorities that appeal to the Republican base in Florida and the rest of the country.

Earlier this week, DeSantis said he was ordering a Jan. 11, 2022, special election to fill the vacancy created by the April 6 death of Congressman Alcee Hastings. His plan would leave the seat open for more than nine months, far longer than normal — and delay the overwhelmingly Democratic congressional district sending a new representative to Washington, D.C., to become part of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s majority."

DeSantis raved about how great the FL voting system was just after the 2020 election.

Later, he changed his mind and jumped on Trump's bandwagon calling for legislation that disenfranchises voters.

DeSantis the divider? His conservative agenda is designed for campaigns and comes with lots of opposition

    excerpt:

"In fact, DeSantis himself bragged about the way voting was run in Florida — immediately after the 2020 election. DeSantis said it was so well done that Florida had permanently shed its reputation as a national laughingstock unable to correctly conduct voting.

But then Trump refused to admit he lost — and began spreading the false narrative that widespread voter fraud was the reason President Joe Biden won.

The election changes come after those false claims have been repeated so often, and echoed by so many other Republican leaders, that the party’s rank-and-file voters are suspicious, and think the 2020 election was riddled with fraud even though there isn’t evidence to support that contention.

By February, DeSantis was on board. He appeared in West Palm Beach to announce he wanted the Legislature to change state voting laws."
