find a pattern for a pair of pants you like, make a patchwork sheet big enough to fit the pattern and then follow the instructions.

Ive noticed that patterns can sometimes be difficult, You can also use a pair of pants of yours that you like, turn them inside out and fold in half. Trace the shape, then flip it over and trace the shape again, then, turn them in half the other way, trace....flip and trace again, cut out (mark your peices, which is which) then sew together.
Then make a peice for the top, where you would put the elastic or drawstring.

Did you follow that? Seems a bit confusing, but I've found that easier than following a pattern.
