Maybe your scalp is dry... try using some head and shoulders or something.

Hair pain during brushing & drying is a symptom of Syphilis

How often do you go between washes? Do you blow dry it, curl it, straighten it? I'm sorry. I can't tell if you're a man/woman by your name.

i shower once a day and wash my head with shampoo and conditioner. i don't have dandruff. oh, i'm a guy. it's not a sharp pain, it feels more weird than anything and kinda dull... i guess that's just me...what's syphilis?

    syphilis - std

I sometimes get a sharp pain in my scalp, it feels kinda like an ingrown hair or something but brief. Maybe you're just being too harsh with your hair. Do you wear your hair in a ponytail, or tightly held back often? That can screw with it too.

Really, Syphilis is a disease that you get from sitting on dirty toilet seats - it inflames the hair follicles, and in rare instances can cause Lycanthropy and make the afflicted person believe that he/she is a werewolf.

that sounds very interesting, the werewolf part. But no syphilis for me!
maybe i'm just an over-enthusiastic brusher.
plus my hair is curly, but short.
    -alberto, i'm male

Try messaging your scalp when you shampoo it. Maybe you should change shampoos for a lil' while and see if that helps. If your hair is curly I would maybe try one with a softener or relaxer in it.

Welcome to the forums. Nice to meet you Alberto.

Shampoos can also dry out your scalp, maybe you should just shampoo every other day.

If you still get in the shower it wont smell or anything.
