Hi! I just wanted to share another long sleeved dress I made recently. The topic of pretty sleeves mentioned before got my wheels turning. So I've started playing around with sleeves and this is one of the results! I decided to slit the sleeves and expose some arm flesh!! Let me know what you think! Oh and BTW it is draped over a belt to give it those layers!
i think it's beautiful...wrinkles and all.... i don't own an iron.....so i think wrinkles are beautiful......hehe.....
Thank you. What I like to do is use bits and peices from different patterns, so I get sleeves from one place and bodice from another and so on. The cut for the skirt portion is a simple circle skirt pattern added onto a dress. It makes for one hellav a spin and a pretty drape. Also I work with the fabric, sometimes my ideas dont work out so I have to adjust. Its more like this is what the fabric wanted to be, not what I wanted the fabric to be.
Well, going with the flow of the fabric is definitely the mark of an artist. Do you sell your dresses? They are so romantic and beautiful I would think you could have your own line somewhere. (i've since seen another one you made) Good luck with your creations!. They are very inspiring. love, nightwind
Thanks! I thought I captured a bit of the Toga in there. Kendra at www.thecalicokids.com has been kind enough to put some of my stuff on her site, shes gonna put that dress up there soon. Shes very talented, I have been admiring her Microsuede dress, oh how I love microsuede!
Awesome dress (and I'm not a dress fan). That would move even me to wear it (pants underneath still > Love the style though
