i agree with your post up untill that point...but thats just flagrantly wrong. the war in afghanastan was JUST as bad the war in iraq is, the difference? not as many troops died in afghanistan. thats why you don't hear about the injustices of afhanistan as much as the injustices of iraq...when americans arent dieing, than you don't care. afghanistan had as much to do with 9/11 as iraq did, and thats nothing. iraqs for oil, so why afghanistan? oil as well, not as much oil as iraq, but still...and the poppy harvest. how are american supposed to aquire their heroin fix if the afghanis arent producing it for them? if people don't get the heroin, then how are all the intelligence agencies supposed to pay for their spying activities?
the taliban overthrew and american installed regime, and eliminated the poppy trade in afghanistan...as soon as the taliban was wiped out, its back in business with the americans running the show again.
im sorry...im rambling.

support the troops, but hate the politicians?...okay...but then ya gotta support the police too, and theres enough cop bashing on this site. cops got a job to do, just as military men do...they don't make the rules, i can appreciate that, but you can't deny some from both professions step beyond their boundaries.

 

I think what jointman meant when he said support the troops was, we dont want another Vietnam where the soldiers are actually mentally tramatized because millions of americans were protesting for them to get out of vietnam and to stop killing for reasons we had nothing to do with. I dont see this war getting that bad for the soldiers, but i think its partly because of the current "support the troops" movement, and what already happened with Vietnam. I doubt anybody in the entire world was suprised by this. I mean, the man was a former coke fiend.

 

why does any of this matter? in a few years he won't be the president anymore, in a few more years he'll be dead, and a few more years after that we'll all be dead. in a few hundred years everything that is happening now will be ancent history. in a few thousand years there won't be anyone who even knows about all the things that are happening now that we all think are so important. some people spend their entire lives fighting things that one day won't matter, it's much more important just to enjoy your life - you only get one.

 

Sort of a dim view of things...but a good point. We should always phrase our problems in terms of the long view: how much will this matter in 5 years? 20? 100? It really makes that comment from your boss that really pissed you off seem utterly inconsequential.

At the same time though, that's no reason to stop caring about today. After all, this is where it all is. If evil is going down, we should act now to stop it, not just say, "well, in a thousand years, it will be ancient history". True enough, but if someone could have stopped the Inquisition or other ancient atrocities, the world might be a better place today. Thusly, what we do now echos through the future. Send out the good vibes to have a brighter future.

 

Bush is an idiot, plain and simple, He sends troops out to fight HIS war. People die because of him, and maybe if he drew back the troops in iraq, it might actually turn out for the better. In my opinion bush might already know where osama is, but might be helping him out(they where friends/family friends, bin ladens family donated/support and own(i think?) the Saudi Arabia building in washington.

 

Give the guy a break .Half the people on these forums are on drugs.

what the fuck!? i dont think iraq had anything at all to do with 9/11. The reason we dont hear shit about afghanistan is not because our troops had a higher success rate but because we are in afghanistan to kill terroists not over throw a regime.

that is an untterly insane idea to throw out there, nothing against you weedman, but goddamn! the man is a millionaire, not jsut that but he lives in a region that is all 3rd world countries. the reason we havent caught him yet is because he is smart as hell and can use his money ot pay people to hide him. The smarter a wanted man is the harder its gonna be to catch him, like BTK in wichita, kansas. The reason we found Saddam so quick was because the troops overthrew everything and we were able to access his funds/bank accounts/etc. and freeze his moeny so he couldnt pay people to back him anymore.

my uncle was a former coke fiend and now he has 2 masters degrees and owns a multi million dollar business.

the point of this statement? some of the people who post here and also state that they do drugs are some smart motherfuckers, examples are brandon and bill.

I never said people on the forums were dumb...I'm just saying it shouldn't make a difference that he did smoke.

 

I agree with funtime, drugs shouldn't define a person, so what if somebody snorts coke or smokes weed. I know tons of parents/teachers/doctors around my area who smoke weed and do cocaine.

I think if Bush is honest he will at some point address the bs war on drugs which is and has always been just a way to oppress minorities and immigrants (starting when san fran outlawed opium smoking in the 1800s. why did they outlaw it? cause the ppl who smoked it were chinese immigrants and it wsa a way to keep them under the govt's thumb. NO DOUBT!! this drug policy is demon spawn. the war is too. but allegedly God can bring the greatest good out of the greatest evil.

 

im sorry to be an asshole guys but i think a war that needs to happen is a war on north korea, kim jong ill is putting his people through a hell that saddam only saw in his wet dreams.
