quote: the acceptence of hating white people as an ok thing while whites are not allowed to hate anyone is not.

Since when has this statement been true?! In the past, it was ok to hate black people...movies made fun of them, people named their black labs "******"

I've not seen the opposite of that occuring.

Maybe a black comedian will make fun of white people, doesn't bother me any.

that was back when racism still had ahold.

nowadays there are tons of comedy shows and bits about how much black people hate white people and why. If a white guy did that he'd be banned by the FCC. I don't think either side is funny.

I used to live in an all white neighborhood. Then I went to a mostly black neighborhood. I was hated simply because I was white. It felt awful. I've never said a racist thing in my life and I'm hated jsut because of my skin.

My point was it happens on both sides, but it's not as big a deal when it's white people as the target. Either way I think is sucks.

I agree with that, all racism sucks....I just don't get upset about the semantics of "galaxy of black stars"...who cares,...there are more serious problems to address.

I'm sure if a bunch of black people beat you up, and you went to the police, they would be more than willing to help...

when I was robbed by a black man, the los angeles cops were more than happy to go around the neighborhood and detain any blck person they saw, even if he didn't fit the description.

NO MATTER WHAT, there is still way more racism directed towards blacks than towards whites.....everyone must know that.

maybe. In my neighborhood, I don't see it, but my neighborhood is just a tiny part of the world and that just goes to show how different different places can be!!

All I can do is my part.

do you get pulled over in your car every week for being white?

    didn't think so.

I know that groups of blacks can discriminate against whites too, just pointing out that on a societal level, the opposite is far more common.

If Chris Rock is considered racist because he makes jokes about white people, this is wrong. There is no such thing as a racist joke, they are racial jokes. Telling these jokes or laughing at them is not racist.

I have seen a comedian called Bernard Manning, he saw a black man in the audience and said "I've got some rope in the car, lets lynch him after the show" everyone, including the back guys and asians saw that this was a joke and nothing else.

I do believe though, that Rock has more chance of his racial material being shown on television than white people. Comedians should challenge this.

Factually what you say is true. It is just a shame the very mention of racism towards whites causes people to spout the stuff about the terrible discrimination that black people suffer. We all know about this and I think it is a disgrace.

This is not a battle over who suffers more, people are just pointing out that on a general level racism towards whites is accepted more, where racism towards black people causes outrage. The fact that one has historically suffered more does not make the other one any less fair. Both types of racism, infact all types of racism should be eradicated.

I totally agree, just pointing out that there is more racism built into the fabric of american swociety towards blacks than whites...to the point where there is almost no comparison at all.

I hate all of it, although I must admit, I've never experienced any coming from blacks, but have heard many terrible racist sayings and jokes directed towards blacks.

When I hear rasicm, I just treat it as proof that this person is not very bright or is simply begging for attention and therefore is not worthy of my time. To be honest I imagine white people would react more to a black person telling a joke about them than the other way round, black people would seem to have a better attitude towards it.

All that matters about jokes is if they are funny or not. There is nothing that should escape being joked about and everything should be laughed at and if people realise that jokes are jokes then it would be alot easier to live.

I believe it is a persons choice to be offended or not, if a JOKE offends a person that person should try and deal with it and try and find the meaning of a joke. Of course if a person is being racist then they are not worth getting upset over. We should all laugh at and appreciate each others differences as well as having the ability to laugh at ourselves.

I think the real problem with racism is that alot of time people use it as a way to not have to deal with their own insecurity.

"There's something inside of me I'm not comfortable with. digging down, taking a look at it, and trying to fix it would involve work and pain so I'm just going to blame it on that guy."

The problem is even if you find a scapegoat, even if you get other insecure people to agree with you, you're problem wont ever go away.

Throwing up on someone wont make your sickness go away. It'll just help it spread.
