    Brothers and Sisters,

Thank you so much. Since leaving my post about Kyle's death a week ago today, I have recieved 15 replies, and countless emails from the kind people of this community. I can't express how much this means to me. After losing the first (and at times I felt only) true love of my life, it was such a comfort to find the love of my fellow hippie brothers and sisters.

My parents grew up in the 70s, but they were more preppy and accademicly focused than most. There is no way you could link my parents to the hippie movement. Since emerging as my true hip self, I have often heard my father grumble under his breath, "damn hippie." He has tried to "educate" me on the "awful way of life those people led." It seems to be my parents belief that peace, love, and unity is a dream that is unreachable. I have to disagree. How can that be said about the people who consoled my inital pain at losing Kyle with an outpouring of kind words and encouragement?

No, our dream is upon us, brothers and sisters. If we could only spread this message of love a little further, imagine the places it could go, the things it could do! John Lennon once said, "You can have peace as soon as you like if we all pull together. Get out there and get peace, think peace, and live peace and breathe peace, and you'll get it as soon as you like."

So here is my plea. Kyle and I used to stay up at night, baking and talking about our idea of the perfect world. The hippie dream, it was our dream. Kyle wanted to see nothing more than peace and love on earth forever. His death, while heart-wrenching, has propelled me into action. Dont be afraid, brothers and sisters, we can reach any mountain top we want, as long as we do it together. So get out there and love it up, man! We only have a short time here on this earth... why not spend that time spreading the goodness in our hearts? It will only serve to make the world a better place.

Do it for Kyle, do it for me, do it for your unborn children, or do it for yourself. It doesn't matter what your motive is, it only matters that you spread our beautiful message of peace. ROCK ON!

    In love,

    Amelia
