I've been eating very little meat of late because I'm going to India soon and won't be able to eat it over there because it can be dodgy for foreigners to eat but last night I was drunk and I ate a donar kebab on my way home and I can feel it sitting in my stomach it's disgusting, I never got this before from one, is this just noticable becuase I've been eating so little meat of late?
That's possible, probably likely; that it feels "new" to your body because you haven't eaten meat in a while. It could also be a mental thing (not wanting to go back to eating meat, and feeling it's disgusting, after eating so many vegetables), and perhaps it's even a combination of the two.
It's not the latter cos that Kebab was damn tasty. Probably the former, hmmm, who knows maybe I just ate it to fast or got indigestion!
The same thing happened to me a while ago. I accidently ate some pepperoni in a pizza roll thing, I felt so sick. It wasn't even that much, but I was still affected. I did feel worse after I actually found out what I'd eaten, but my body reacted first. Go off anything for a while and then go back to it, and you'll have some sort of a reaction.
I had the exact same experience with an apple pie made with lard. My stomach was rolling fifteen minutes before I even knew what was in it.
The same thing happened with me...kinda. I was camping and we made some thai noodles... and I tasted it, but I automatically thought it was nasty and said I wasn't going to eat it. Then after my boyfriend said it tasted fishy, we looked at the ingredients and there was anchovy extract. SICK!!! IT WAS SO NASTY!! Then I freaked out after the fact. But I was proud of myself thinking that it was nasty before I knew what was in it... then once I found out what was in it... i was even more disgusted. It's not like your situation, but I thought I'd share mine anyways.
It's pretty normal for people to go awhile without eating meat and feel sick after eating it again. Meat is difficult for your stomach to break down, and takes a long time to digest. So your body probably got used to not having to break down meat, and then when you started eating it again, it just reacted badly.
yeah, at my university hall they served us 'vegetable' spring rolls once wioth beef in them. I had a few bits, thought it was really odd tasting and threw it away...i was sooo sick that night though, and I only found out what it was the next day. but yeah, your body is probably just used to fibre and veggies and processing them fast, so giving it meat again is making it rearrange itself
I ordered veggie eggroll bowl at a local place. The kitchen goofed a rarity, and sent pork. Now, I grew up eating kosher, glatt kosher, until I went veg at 12. Pig has NEVER been considered a food by me. I trusted the place and took a nice big bite. instant grease flood. Did the most polite napkin spit I could and excused myself to rinse my mounth...and get the right noodle bowl. even though I had very little of that crap hit my system, I was off all evening. My guess is that it is so heavy in comparison, as well as somewhat of a novelty to the digestive system. I can't believe people eat that stuff. that was foul.
Yeah, I get like that whenever I eat meat now. It's as if the meat "feels dead" or something. It just sits there and I'm all grossed out with myself. I take it as a sign that meat really isn't the best for you. I mean, I don't get that way if I don't eat a certain veggie for a while and then eat it. Or nuts. or fruits. *shrugs* Only animal product I don't get that feeling off of is raw honey and cooked eggs. *shrugs*
heh heh!! *high fives seabass for making me giggle good!!* I think even meat eaters might suffer these effects after drinking!! Specially as kebabs normally mean you are just a wee bit over the limit!! Definitely you would react to it..I am not arguing as it has happened to me after accidently eating tuna norimake!! Do not eat Japanese in a darkened room!! I do wonder however why if we eat something we have never tried before it doesn't react in that way, there are plenty of exotic vege food stuffs that I have never put into my system but when I have have not had any serious reaction to it...mmmmm....and howabout when you are a child and you eat something for the first time ever?
That's not an option! Anyway, as I said I'm not a vegetarian have just cut down drastically before my trip to India to get used to not eating meat.
Yes probably, its like when you lay in one position for hours and then move...it hurts like a bitch lol.
