Hi to everyone! I'm excited to have finally ventured out and find this site. I'm living in Providence RI with my 12, almost 13, year old daughter. We are in a place in our lives where we need to make a change, not necessarily where we live, but how we live. I have been relocating most of my adult life. I have now (at 43) realized that location is not the issue, but the way I choose to live is. I am working hard at finding a community that matches our dreams and visions and a place where my talents and life experiences can be put to good use.

We are environmentalists, activists, ethically vegetarian and into self-sustainability. I homeschool and wish to continue in community with other children for my daughter. I love to cook, sew, garden, hike, sail, and basically experience new adventures.

I'm very passionate about what I do for work as well as what I believe. Currently I am a Director of an urban Learning Center for poor performing children. The idea of the job is a great one. The politics and personal agendas of the powers that be are intolerable. I have found this to be the case with several nonprofits I have been involved in.

I am an entrepreneur. I have great management skills including grant writing and accounting. I love putting events together and am really good at it. I would also like to share homeschooling efforts with other families.

I also have experience with alternative addiction recovery groups, meaning no AA but more real, scientifc approaches to getting healthy.

I have a little bit of savings but am very resourceful. If you can lead us in a direction that will help change the path of our lives to the one that we know in our hearts is the right one, then please enlighten me.

    In Peace, Petra

I know what you mean about the agenda of alot of non-profits. The Hudson Bay Company (which runs many national smaller environmental campaigns such as citizens campaign for the environment) is one of them. They brainwash college students and indigent people into bringing them money from door to door while the management sits on thier butt. They put on a big show but they are really just like amway.
