anyone like this beer?? its not bad..... I thought I would try it, just to try something different, and it was in the liquor store, so I thought, hell....... go for it.
I've never had it. Like Fat Tire, that is one of those beers that is popular in certain parts of the country, yet isn't even distributed in other parts, like the Northeast. I am certain that Shiner doesn't distribute in NY. But, I am sure it's just an average bock beer. The majority of the beers you hear people most often raving about (like in this forum) are the slightly above average quality beers, which are a lot more accessible to the untrained palate.
yes !!its consistsntly good ....around here sompin fancy is like 9 -10 bucks ....that stuff is 6.50 ..... its from texas
There used to be this store in Johnson, Vt called the Pie Safe that carried Fat Tire. Sadly it has closed. Odd shop - it had over 300 different beers lined up in coolers by the single beer where you could pick out your own mixed six pack. They sold beer and then they had local fresh pies and baked goods - that was it.
Shiner Bock is seriously one of the worst-tasting beers I've had in a long, long time. Last summer I bought a six-pack because I'd heard it was good, and I ended up pouring most of it down the drain. I gave some to a couple friends and they thought it was bad, too. And to compare it to Dead Guy is truly absurd.
I am in total agreement with that, even though I've never had Shiner Bock before. I LOVE Dead Guy Ale, though.
