Nice one dude! When I see my tv in the house I might just say I'll sit for a minute, and then end up watching crap for an hour. If you can't see it you won't have a desire to watch it.

Mabye it is a good thing with regards to your health, unless of course you frequent the internet often, its just as bad for your mind.

I don't think the internet is bad for the mind. It is what you make of it. It is one of the greatest learning resources available to us. I know I have learned a heap of stuff from it. TV on the other hand tends to keep you sitting in your chair through shows such as American Idol and Big Brother which don't help a person better themselves in any way. On the contrary they dullen the mind and senses.

"It is what you make of it" you say with regards to the internet, well this applies to TV too. Shows like American Idol are designed for morons anyway. But you can learn alot from TV. Infact many of the things I want to do are because of television, I have interests in writing comedy and drama and TV is a fantastic sourse of research for these things.

Television has done many great things, for instance in 1973 Elvis performed a concert that was broadcast around the world and was seen by a billion and a half people which means a billion and a half people were able to see live, a singer who never performed outside the States.

I know there has been times when tv has been useful. But from my perspective, I have 8channels and there is very little too watch that I can benefit from. If I want to learn something I don't go to the TV I go to a book or the net.
