This is EXACTLY why Pelosi had a stand-alone bill brought up for a vote in the House for $2000 checks to American families. That way, no "add-on poison pills" could be added to the stand-alone bill to be able to point fingers for political "gotcha's" ALL bills in Congress should be required to be stand-alone bills ........... that way the American people can see clearly who's doing what ............ for or against their interests.

Here's a thought ............. for all those nut jobs that are screaming that these checks to keep families and small businesses afloat ( in a deadly global pandemic!!! ) are going to convert the U.S. into a communist country - Do you have NO faith in capitalism at all??? Do you believe that people - as a whole aggregate group - are sooooo lazy that they wouldn't want to go back to work and challenge themselves, and feel a sense of responsibility & pride in their work?? Personally - I'd be bored TO TEARS!!!!! Aren't we all sick and tired of sitting around and being isolated because of Covid-19??? Who doesn't want to go back to work, mingle with co-workers, have daily changes of scenery???

This is a once-in-a-lifetime (hopefully!) deadly pandemic which had NO VACCINE for it, and no known treatments. If it had been handled intelligently .......... prudently ........... without foolhardy misinformation from the start, this U.S. situation could have been MUCH LESS deadly & constraining. In my lifetime, the only other government call for mass immunizations was back in the 1960's with an oral vaccine placed in sugar cubes for polio. NOBODY questioned science and doctors back then. NOBODY yelled and screamed "communism" or "socialism" or "big government is taking over our lives." EVERYONE went and ate the sugar cubes at their local schools or community centers. There were big lines of people - all peacefully waiting their turns to get the vaccine. Were our parents and grandparents all "commies" and "radicals" ???? NO - NO THEY WEREN'T.
The U.S. didn't sink into a communist dictatorship, people acted with civility about it, no radio shock-jocks screamed (for big pay from big ratings) that the government was taking away our Constitutional rights. The Constitution was safe ......... in fact ......... such thoughts that we hear all the time these days - weren't even considered!! People back then - thank GOD - could see the benefits of the new vaccine and were very grateful for the chance to take it.

If most people would just settle down, think things through, and "tough it out" for a few more months of masks and social distancing / avoiding indoor gatherings ......... we could see the worst of this pandemic in our rear-view mirrors. We could get back to some sense of normalcy again. Then - we wouldn't need all the bailouts for families and small businesses. I believe things will B-O-O-M once we can all go about freely. Pent=up demand for EVERYTHING!!! But .................. will we ALL be smart enough and "tough enough" to see us through???

Political theatre, stunts and brinksmanship intended to do 2 things ........... #1.) de-rail anything Biden will try to get done in the early days of his Presidency, so he looks bad (as McConnell bragged about his plans to roadblock Obama), and #2.) to secure their own local district elections for themselves = their own job security at the expense of what's best for the whole country.

When I was homeless and staying at a shelter in Colorado there was a guy from Cuba there too. His name was Carlos and he was cool. His family was originally from Russia and somehow made it to Miami. I think he ended up going back to Miami. He wasn't anti Castro like the rest of them. Today Cuba is changing and I hope the resolve their problems. I'd love to go and visit over there.

 

So how long will these Republicans rip off their own donors? When will these people wake up?
