my sons been squeeking alot more now, and at night gasps for air. it got worse when the cats got let out but has always happened since he was born. my mom said hes jsut making baby noises but i think its worse than that. last night he was actually gasping for air, squeeked 5 times trying to breath and than was able to breath again. its so weird, comes out of nowhere, even when were feeding him he does it. that in my opionion isnt normal, could it be his esophagis(sp?) can they check that this early of age? its really freeken me out so either way im going to take him in next wk... just wondering if anyone has had kids with asma or breathing related problems that could help me figure this out........ Thanks
My step-daughter snored horribly since she was a baby. We finnally took her to a dr. they removemd her tonsils and adniods that were blocking 70% of her airway (we found out after surgery) Maybe he has this problem?
My daughter made the squeeking noises. She had severe reflux and was on a apnea monitor. They attributed the noises to the relux. When they squeak, they are closing their airway so nothing can go down the wrong way. My friend also has a loud baby and she is about 5 months old. They took her in and the specialist stuck a scope down her esophagus and confirmed that she had a larger than normal flap of cartilage cover her airway and that it would take care of itself eventually. You are doing the right thing taking him to the doctor. They will be able to do tests and see what is really going on. I can tell you that my daughter is fine now and my friends baby is on the mends. Peace
I think it would be a good idea to ask the doctor about it. Some babies are just noisy, but if you feel uncomfortable about it, please talk to your doctor.
My son squeaked a bit when he as an infant. I always thought it was something in his nose that was doing it. He never had any problems breathing so I just kept an eye on it and it went away. I don't trust doctors so I use them as a last resort usually. And, I can say that if there seemed to be a problem with his breathing like you said about your son I would've gone to one. Then I would've researched what they said before I did something. *hugs* Hope he feels better soon!
