weed and family relationships

everyone in my family knows i smoke, except my stepdad.. if he knew i'd be out on my ass in half a second.. but i don't think it'd be a suprise to him, i have a pot leaf sticker on my wall and a shirt with a potleaf on it..

 

When I first got caught my parents freaked out because I was 13 or 14. My dad was pissed about it because about a week before that happened he asked me if i smoked and I said no. My mom was just concerned as she usually is. My grades steadily declined from 6th grade to 8th; I got a 4.0 at the end of 6th, 3.3 at the end of 7th, and 3.0 at the end of 8th (I started smoking in 8th).

Last summer my dad found me with some pills: adderal (which i am now prescribed to), Hydrocodone, and 2ci, and a flask. Needless to say my parents were pissed. Add onto that I got a speeding ticket sometime after that and my summer wasn't fun. That night I talked to my mom about it and we had a real cool talk. I eventually confessed to her that I did smoke pot. She was again concerned and asked me to quit for the next 3 months and then she would check in again. I finally started smoking again sometime this year and my grades have been increasing from the first quarter when I didn't smoke (2.8 to 3.2 to about a 3.55 right now). There have been a few times where I have come home and my dad and mom said they smelled smoke but basically dropped it after that. So I get the feeling that since I've been working so hard in school and working / doing community service after school that they are mildly ok with me smoking for the time being.

As to our relationship. My relationship with my mom has always been very strong and since I got that ticket I've been working at her office so I get to see her more often (normally she gets home around 7 or 8). Towards the end of the summer, I could have sworn my dad hated me. We've worked out these issues and at the time my dad told my mom that he loved me. I've always had issues with my dad though, and I think if there wasn't an issue about bud it'd be about something else.

So I would say Marijuana has barely affected my relationship with my parents.

 

I know my dad smokes weed, he doens't know that I do. I think he would have a cow. I would love to tell him and light up with sometime but I doubt it would ever happen. I think the only way I would tell him is if I were moved out and married and junk like that.
