I was born in St. Louis and all of my relatives live there.. I havent been there in over two years...But St. Louis is great as hell, haha the zoo in amazing...and so is Grants Farm
oh man...I love the Lou...Summers just aren't the same without a ted drewes during intermission at the MUNY....or spending entire paychecks in the Loop... God, I love that town!
I've only lived in Brighton less than 6 months, but I already feel so at home here that it's just crazy.. I love this place so much.
Man! I LOVE the Loop!!! They have this awesome store called rag-a-rama, it's a used clothing store. I have found so many awesome things there!!!!
I almost moved to west st louis a couple of years ago although I've never been. I 've heard it's nice and diverse but I really don't think it would be my kinda place.
Mizzou (University of Missouri at Columbia). Really, I'm only 2 hours away, but I just hardly ever make it into town, & when I do I usually just spend the day visiting my brother & nephew. Damn that whole busting my ass on my honors thesis, trying to get paid to go to grad school, thing! Oh, & dating a PhD student really cuts down on day trips too, since he has less spare time than I do! I was really disappointed last time I went to the loop -- my favorite coffee shop (something like Meshugga's, but I know I spelled it wrong!) closed . The zoo is cool, but I like the science center better! At the zoo, you can just walk around & look at the animals, at the science center you can play with all kinds of cool shit!
You're in Mizzou? AWESOME! I'm at Truman State...I'm like an hour from you. As far as the zoo v. the science center...the science center rocks my socks...The exhibits are always so cool, and the IMAX is the most awesome thing I've ever seen And the Loop rocks...There's nothing like eating lunch at Blueberry Hill, cruising the shops (Ragarama and Vintage Vinyl are my favourite shops, plus the african culture shop is awesome too), and then seeing a midnight show at the Tivoli
I hope you have on your bullet proof vest so when the thugs shoot at you while your shopping you'll survive.
St. Louis is my hometown! I was born there, (well, St. Charles) learned to drive there, graduated from high school. I miss living in St. Louis. However, I love Columbia too, I lived there for awhile as well. It's an awesome town. Fortunately the two towns aren't that far away from another. Oh, and The Schwag & Jake's Leg are awesome. I like to hang out at my friend's bar, Frederick's, or the Deadhead bar Magee's. Anyone ever been?
that is chuck berry's place right??? I thought their food was too expensive for what you get...... it was okay, I just really didnt enjoy it too much. we all went to the pageant for a show, unfortunately the only band playing on that day was hoobastank and some punk band, new found glory, or something was playing..... I did get to see ozomatli open up, which was a surprise of the night for me...... the other bands I couldnt stand for.
I personally can't understand why anyone would ever want to live in a place that isn't either near the ocean or mountains. I actually moved to the mid-west a few years ago for a job, but partly just to see why anyone would ever want to live there. I left after a year not knowing why anyone would want to live there.
and that thread was a play on something else too. didnt mean it. (it was about about some asshole i never talked to telling me not to move there)
A couple of my friends did their undergrad at Truman! So, for those of you from St. Louis, what high school did you go to? (for those of you not from St. Louis, this question is just a local thing, everyone asks it... dunno why...) I went to Hazelwood Central.
I went to high school at snotty Lafayette. I did not fit in there at all, everyone was rich & snobby.
