My boyfriend and I have a school bus from 1969 that we have made into a motor home if you will, we have put a stove in it and a bed and what not and just made it really awesome. Anyway this summer we, along with our good friend pam, want to go live in canada for a few months but we don't know of anywhere to go. We want it to either be really wooded and secluded with somekind of water around or find a great commune that is by the forest and water as well. So if anyone knows anywhere please tell me!
    thanks

there's this place on the west coast of van isle where there were a bunch of semi-permanent squatters in the woods on some crown land. they had been there for many many years, and just this past summer, everyone got kicked off of their squats. i think that they just moved to a different place though. i dont really know exactly where it was...my ex told me about it when he was working on that part of the island. (i think near port renfrew? but i'm not positive). you might want to look into sooke potholes. there's some nice beachfront at tofino. hornby island has some georgeous waterfront too. there's forest everywhere on the islands. :D if you're in a bus, it's easy enough to find a place to park. and if you pick up friendly hippy hitch-hiker's you'll probably connect with local community pretty easily. and there's always a summer rainbow gathering on the island too...

Salt Spring is well known for it's "hippy commune" type of folk but it's kinda getting bought out by rich americans (which sucks) but just going any where in BC you'll find good people... also check out
