In my community we have a few backwoods chillspots we like to hang out at and smoke herb and whatnot, peacefully, not harming anyone, and there are these kids around my age that have discovered them and like to smoke herb too, but they are not peaceful people and they bring very bad vibes to the area. They trash the woods because they are too lazy to pick up simple trash like chip bags, and cigarette packs. For a while i thought they were becoming more enviromentally friendly because they cleaned up the trash from one of the areas, but they didnt remove it, they just left the trash bags in the woods for tha animals to rip open, which just caused the trash to be more concentrated. One day me and my friend decided to clean the whole spot, and sort all the trash into cans/bottles/paper etc. for recycling. We sorted all of it and took it to the school parking lot not far from there to their recycling dumpsters. When we got there there was no recycling. None of us drive, and we don't have any other recycling near us, so we had to throw all that trash away . About a week later I went back to one of the spots, and it was once again trashed, after it had been spotless the week before. These kids are so inconsiderate and hypocritical i don't know what to do, but im not going to sit idle while they desicrate our Mother Earth and take away our right to clean air and nature in its pure form. If i clean up after them, I must do it on a daily basis, which can take hours sometimes. I need to find a way to teach them about consequences of their actions. It is amazing how immature some people are. Just thought I would share some things about my area and the unfortunate pollution(even if on a small scale) that goes on there. Protect Mother Earth and she will protect you.
At least your taking the initiative to do somthing about it...so often people think that its alright to litter. Thanks for keeping OUR earth clean
i know what u mean...i work with all kinds of people who smoke(i do too) but i look over and they are throwing butts everywhere...dont people know they arent biodegradiable and shit....gawd people piss me off sometimes..
about littering... littering doesn't actually hurt the enviroment, its just an eyesore. In fact the dumps were it would go anyway actually do damage. Litter can help to make a community take some action toward recycling. the only litter i pick up is alluninum. If you recycle on pop can, you just save 6 ounces of gas worth of energy. Have a green day!
It IS Immature to pollute, and it is immature to say pollution isn't immature. I didnt clean for nothing either. If I didn't clean there shit up at all, there would be twice as much of it. Littering is selfish too. Destroying the Earth so that you don't have to walk 100 yards to a recycling bin? Even if littering is just a small thing, it is a stepping stone to other forms of pollution. Peace Thanks for your opinion, and I see yout point, but littering does hurt the enviroment, if not directly, indirectly. Most litter is recyclable. PLastic bottles, paper, glass, ANd aluminum. It is an eyesore, and if the litter contains any chemicals it gets carried away by rainwater into our water supplies. I see your point, but littering Does hurt the enviroment. My dream is to see the earth as it was before our interference(impossible I know), but Even if litter is just an eyesore, its better to be responsible and pick it up than to leave it for generations of our children to see.
an eyesore is not just an eyesore; it hurts to see it but we become desensitized to it so that we throw more of our crap everywhere and soon no one notices anymore. there is a piece of plastic in the alley where i walk my daughter to school. i see this stupid piece of plastic every day but i don't always notice it. the other day it dawned on me i have been seeing it in the same spot in the same condition for almost 2 years. so i picked it up and put it in the recycling bin the next time i passed it. it was that bloody simple and it took me 2 years to really see it.
Yes this is true, but it still wouldn't make the Earth how it was Before we came here. Unless we could figure out a way to travel through time like Bill and Ted. Yep, tried that way before i did any clean up or anything, but now I've just stopped hanging around them all together cause of the bad vibes they create.
I think most people are INCREDIBLY unaware of not only their surroundings and their own actions. I suggest leaving a full pack of cigarettes/Potato Chips over a simple pit trap lined with broken bottles and dog crap! Humanity disgusts me sometimes and I go out of my way to find places where I can avoid the thought of the ugliness humans create...the last friggin' thing I want to see when relaxing in the woods is some collection of 15 year old pop top beer cans or used condoms. Ya' Know?
Try lamanating a piece of paper asking that they please pick up their trash, outta respect. Then stick the paper on a tree limb. Might not work, but might.,
hmm horncow, thats just another type of litter, but as i was saying (old but i wasnt here for a bit) its not immature to say that its not immature to pollute, and its not immature to pollute, people if you disagree with something dont say its immature or something that isnt based on fact, just say you disagree. please.
Ever find any kegs? Sorry, im one of those littering people, but only if i dont see a trash can around for a while.
It makes me mad when people litter as well. Trash in nature completely ruins the effect of it, I think. So my friends and I have started up a game, and for each piece of trash you pick up, you get one point. We keep tally, and separate cans from trash, and recycle them, so we make some money out of the deal.. Especially from party spots that have TONS of beer cans everywhere... We try to get as many other people invovled as possible.. but there's always those people who just never learn, sadly...
I really hate it when people empty ash trays in parking lots, drop diapers, beer bottles, fast food containers, grease blops, leave shopping carts in ditches, and abandon animals....oh I could go on about this....but I have to cook...
Can you maybe pool your money together and buy a Rubbermaid trash bin to keep out there? Maybe that would help the kids get the idea...
Sometimes it's hard to talk to people about throwing garbage. One time I tried solo (no circle to back me up) and I had to run away because they were going to beat me up. You did a good thing. Sometimes, travelling, I'll pick up garbage on the road of the town I'm in. Just ask some store for a garbage bag. Seems that they won't try to put u in the jail for vagrancy when you're cleaning up their town. Get to the other side and drop the bag off at a dumpster. Plus many times, road gifts appear. One time first I found a zippo, then a pack of cigars, then a bag o' herb all in a row (but I think somebody probably put them there on purpouse thanx, whoever you were)
