For another part of my college project i am looking at hippies and their identity. Can you help me by answering a few questions about you(only if your a hippie of cause) because i dont know any hippies we dont seem to have them where i live.

1) I want to wear long long green skirt and cool T- shirt.
2) I love to dye my clothes.
3) Nothing.
4) I love The Beatles. Sometimes I listen to Blackmore´s night.
5) fantasy
6) I am scout girl. That is my big hobby. I play piano and guitar.
7) I want to travel to india and Tibet. I want to work in some charity institution.
8) Hippies really believe in love, dont care about money much.
9) Many people in my country dont like hippies because of drugs. But I think that a lot of young hippies know that drugs are almost everytime bad.

1. my favorite outfit is this red skirt I have that has suns and moons on it- you can see it in my gallery or in the memeber photos I liek to wear either tank tops t-shirts or nothing.
2.I don't really have a favorite clothing make- I get whatever is cheapest at a head shop or online. E bay is my friend alothough not a lot of hippies sell stuff on there. the best place for clothes is concerts and festivals.
3. I am Christian. I belive in God and Jesus and that I'm going to heaven, but I don't go to church or read the bible. I have a relationship with God that is just between me and him
4. I love jambands. I love the Grateful Dead, I go see moe. and SCI most often. I like classic rock also like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Allman Brothers. I like reggae, punk, and sometimes pop, but not often. I could list band names forever here so I'll stop now.

5.I like comedy films. ones that make me laugh. like half baked.
6.hobbies? I make hemp jewelry. other than that I work. I guess partying and doing drugs could be a hobby
7.I have finished education (for now) and I run a business. one day I'll get a business degree and have my own business
8. real hippies don't try to be anything but themselves. They follow the path of people in a more peaceful, powerful time, but don't neccessarily go by rules. that's the beauty of it. you can do anything, be anything and rarely get judged.
9.the public makes us out to be a laughing stock. But we're the ones having all the fun!

Black bandshirts, but also more colourful stuff, sometimes together. Rarely all black anymore. I'm not (yet?) expressing hippiness through my clothing, I think it has more to do with ideals.

Er... anything comfy?

I whoreship the great Soup god Soupoloupos and honour him with blood sacrifices.(Actually, no. But soup does taste damn nice!).

Pursuing happiness through spreading it to others, having a positive influence on other people and being remembered for this. And becoming an archaeologist, I guess, seeing as that's what I'm studying for.

The difference in meaning "hippie" has to those who "follow" it, with which I mean the freedom of being yourself within being a hippie.

How do you think the public view hippies?
They think we are a big joke but they have no clue that we shall bring them all to slavery once we have slain the final scattered sources of resistance. Hail victory! Anyway, I'm quite certain a lot of people think we're very unserious, or else out of touch with reality.

What would you wear on an average day? Winter: Bellbottoms, peasant shirts, bandannas. Summer: long skirts and bikini tops/tank tops. No shoes.

What is your favourite clothing make? Make jeans with bigger bells on the bottoms by adding fabric.

What is your religion? Non-denominational. More spiritual than religious

What hobbies do you have? Dancing, reading, writing, playing pool, travelling, spending time outdoors (camping, rafting, biking, hiking, etc.), going to concerts and festivals, knitting, sewing, etc.

What do you want to do when you finish education? Attend law school and go into environmental law or own a non-profit group dedicated to environmental issues

what do you think it is that makes a hippie different from other sub cultural groups(goth, etc.)? I think generally we are the same, but "hippies" are happier and more socially aware. We also are more openminded, I think.

How do you think the public view hippies? I think society thinks we are worthless and just into drugs and having sex with everyone. I think society also thinks we are lazy and dirty. I believe those are huge misconceptions.

1. jeans, band shirt of some kind, but basically whatever is mostly clean ( read:smells ok)
2.clothes are the bane of my existence, but can be fun in their own way. i like old clothes, because they're usually really soft.

8.is hippiedom really a subculture or is it just another facet of culture. hippies tend to be more open minded, kind, and informed than the general population, but some are just as mean and ignorant.
9.in a very poor light. check out urban dictionary's definitions. they really suck. it's kind of sad, cause no hippie wants to hurt anyone else.
