I agree, the people who try and make themselves out to be anti-conformists are just as likely to be sheep as the people they call conformists. People should just do what they want.
reminds me of this vindicitive asshole whats vindicitive mean btw? pls dont tell me, im better at guessing where to use the word by feel who photographed and filmed Carlos Castaneda when everyone thought Castaneda was the greatest living guru alive, and no pictures of him were available in the world, and almost nothing was known about the man, then greg and his wife snooped all through castaneda's trash and found he was a normal man who died of liver cancer and that there is no evidence of tortillas in the trash ahaha and now thinks he is the man of perfect morality this greg who moderates the forum sustained reaction he clumps everyone into this group of 'relativists' says we are all alike because we need to relate to others to discover our own interests or whatever but then greg never admits he is also a relativist simply for seperating himself from the relativists
this is common theme when you strive to be something or to be against something, to a certain extent you end up becoming it
Most people who think of themselves as anti-conformists are usually just poseurs. I don't think a lot of people understand that the way a person dresses does not make them a conformist or anti-conformist. Having piercings and tattoos does not make you an anti-conformist. Long hair does not make you an anti-conformist. Conforming and not conforming is a state of mind.
i like conforming yay for the social norm! boo on anyone who questions stuff. Anywho, yeah.. I'm sure some people think that I'm all anti-conformist (red hair, a tattoo, some piercings, of course the obligotory buttons on my bag) but I really don't do much to question the way the world is, except for the occasional feminist/body image issue (because they're near and dear ot my heart).
i hate those suburban kids who dress in black and are all gothy, seems like lil' bitches trying to look like manson.
state of mind affects the way you dress and how you look just like water filters dont remove flooreyed
Excellent points. I don't seek to be like anyone else in particular. I do my own thing. I accept the fact that my life is my own, and does not need to reflect anyone else's. I cannot be anyone but me. I don't try to be. My friends and family love to lump me as a "conservative" because I tend to vote that way because it is conservatives who tend to support the right to keep and bear arms (my big political issue). But I am not a "conservative" and they are vastly oversimplifying things for their own comfort and convenience. I don't fit into a "category" and it's stupid to try to put me into one. These are people who know that I hold just as many "liberal" views as "conservative," and yet they still make the errors they do in judging me. Go figure. But yeah, people tend to think that they're awesome rebels for piercing or tattooing this or that... It's really pretty laughable. If you get them into a conversation, you find out how very little they actually know! -Jeffrey
