I have headaches weekly -usually-, and its gotten to the point where I hardly even notice. However, this past week it's been like a horrible 3-day-long headache (behind my eyes and my temples mainly), and I'm wondering why. i'v taken aceteminophen for it, but it did nothing. I *am* a vegetarian, and have been for the past four years, but is there any related reason that you can think of? I haven't been stressed at all any time recently, and I don't listen to loud music a lot or anything, I'm stumped
Many people suffer from chronic headaches, and it is more prevalent in females. I would suggest seeing a doctor, preferably a neurologist, if you have headaches that often. There are a lot of medications and treatment options for chronic headaches, that are safe and effective for most people. I don't think it is related to being a vegetarian, if you eat relatively healthy and balanced foods.
Chronic headaches are the bane of my existence. I've had them for decades. If OTC meds no longer help, listen to Photo (above) and see a good neurologist. I would NOT trust an Internist for a chronic pain condition, or even for migraines (bad experiences in my past with medication phobic doctors, or doctors who only like ONE drug and if that doesn't work you are SOL.) If you live close to a big teaching hospital, all the better. Doctors at teaching hospitals (those affilated with Medical Schools) tend to have the best doctors. Chronic pain IS treatable, and there are MANY options depending on what works for you and how you respond. There are just too many options to list here. But most doctors will start you on an SSRI or anticonvulsant, plus a small amount of pain killer until the other meds kick in in a few weeks. Good doctors will also do a battery of test, from blood work to brain imaging, to rule out other things than headache and migraine. Please see a good neurologist, he can really help you. Please don't ignore this. I empathise wtih you. I have been there.....I am there now.....having some nasty breakthrough pain this week. Please get some help. There is help for this problem. Blessings and health
Me and my sister have headaches all the time, like real bad ones, school brings mine on quick, and large doses of light, I like the dusk time of day. tokin up once a week or so gets rid of them for like a few days at a time, very good remedy for headaches, or at least for me, but everyones different.
Since the brain is made mostly of water.... maybe you're not getting enough water. You should be drinking a minimum of 8 8oz glasses of water a day... but your body needs more around 12 8oz glasses a day. So maybe it will help if you drink more water.
This was my first thought as well. Maybe iron supplements if you are iron deficient ( a source of headaches in woman). Instead of trying medication, holistic therapies such as acupunture/acupressure and massage may help. I know it did with me.
sounds like tension headaches to me. are you under stress? i get them a lot but ive seemed to have a lucky break this month. good luck on figuring it out. headaches can be very difficult to figure out.
eh, if she's anything like me.. i get plently of h20 and iron.. but i cant speak for her. it's VERY frustrating when you cant figure them out though.
well, i dont know where in alberta you are, but from the looks of the weather forcast, there's a nice warm wind coming your way... http://theweathernetwork.com/weather/cities/can/Pages/CAAB0194.htm if you have the beginnings of a head cold, the pressure might be building up in your sinuses, causing your headache. ps, they've done studies in alberta, and the winds drive people crazy and cause all kinds of problems (there's a high suicide rate that correlates to the chinooks). personally, i LOVE the alberta winds, they appeal to my restless nature.
