we are starting a small community focused on sustainable living and cottage industry. a focus will include organic veggie production to sell and for sustenance. we are in the final stages of our land purchase. we have acquired 15.7 acres just outside of paradise, Ca. check out our website and if you would like to be a part of this project, please let us know. we would especially like a young couple w/child(ren), but anyone will be fairly considered. www.co-operativeeffort.com this is our site with most of the info you will need. we were originally looking for 10-15 people, but now because of zoning laws have changed that to just a few, so some of the regulations we have posted will be adapted to fit the smaller group. thanx for looking----rabbit
That sounds awesome, but we're (my husband and I) looking for something like you're offering, only in KY. Sounds great, though! Good luck finding some great people.
So what does the zone law say you can do and how many people you can have? Did you take this into consideration before you made the deal?
And if i didn't need a visa to do such a thing, I'd be there too. California is a very special place indeed. Best wishes for your efforts. xxx
Rabbit Me and my boyfriend are looking for a situation like this in California. We do not live there now but want to re locate out there. I used to live in Arcata for 3 years and got pregnant. Now I am pregnant with my second child and due this summer. We are both willing to move and start a farm. I couldn't get your website to come up. . I am 23 and my bf is 22. I am as of now studying herbs and natural healing processes. I have worked at a co-op for almost 2 years now and am looking to start a herb farm/organic produce farm. I know a lot about organic growing and as of right now I am enrolled in college here where I live. The only problem is that it's too expensive and they don't offer much for horticulture. No matter I lived in Humboldt county doing what people do best there. But if you want more info please write back on this thread and then I can give you my email somehow without having the whole world read it. Emily
