The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Thursday that 74 people are facing federal charges stemming from clashes in Portland, Ore., amid protests over systemic racism and police brutality.

“Violent agitators have hijacked any semblance of First Amendment protected activity, engaging in violent criminal acts and destruction of public safety,” U.S. Attorney Billy Williams said in a statement. “The U.S. Attorney’s Office and our federal law enforcement partners are expeditiously working with local and state law enforcement to identify, arrest, and prosecute these individuals that are disrupting the rule of law in our communities and physically attacking our law enforcement officers and destroying property.

“Violent agitators not only delay real reform, but make our community less safe by keeping law enforcement from responding to other critical calls for service,” he added.

Among the charges the dozens of individuals face include assaulting a federal officer, destruction of federal property, arson, failing to obey a lawful order and more.

Many years before these protests when I went to local milta meetings even then they were laughing as they talked about "crashing leftist bullshit".

Some of them find it funny to pretend to be interested and ask stupid and trollish questions.

They seemed really upset at the idea that they were the violent ones. They just knew those weak hippies would hit them too. So yeah I 100% believe they would want to go a peaceful place and discredit it.

The right wing whole identity is violence. We are nice until you push us and then we have the moral right to kill you to protect freedom. So really aren't you afraid of us? There is no need to be violent because we already won. You fear us too much. And these same people don't expect us to see they are attacking people who they feel attack freedom. Come on guys you have been REALLY clear about your plans for years. They are just shocked people are not afraid of them.

They say they are all about liberty and freedom; but, God help you if you say the wrong thing to the AR-15 extreme rightist. They demand that you agree with them.
