hey i want some constructive critiscism. tell me what you think of my webpage. i've been designing webpages for five years but this is the first one based on iframes and css. it's in swedish but you at least can check out the design. please do. www.whirlwind.cjb.net
Ummmm........ I could learn some swedish off of this...... anyways, it is layed out very nice (that sounds funny) It takes a really long time to load......... and it is probaly my computer but the scrolls and links wouldn't work for me
do you have an old version of explorer or netscape? then it may not understand all the css codes. i don't know what the problem could be but you're the first one having problem with it. strange.
i have firefox 1.0 (Mac OS X.2.8), the scrolling works fine. It all depends on your audience. Who are you designing for? Yourself? Businesses? Students? I found the text to be a little small, inconsistent (i.e. all different sizes and fonts), and the scrolling text box (again, in Firefox) wasn't aligned or harmonious with the links on the left. It is hard to critique websites. they are a labor of love. often times you don't see the same things that others, who haven't put so much work and changes into a particular site, see. I hope this helps.
i'm working on the code to make it work in mozilla firefox. i'm totally new to css so it may take a while but it will get better.
i'm designing the site for mostly other swedes with webpages, we link eachoter and visit eachothers sites. i'm not sure you see the site how it is supposed to look. the font is supposed to be all 10px except for the headlines that are 11px and i only use one font, the whole page is supposed to be in arial so i don't use different fonts. if you have explorer you can check out the page and see it the way i see it. i'm working on the code though so in a near future it will hopefully look good in firefox to.
I know this problem well. I design on a mac, it all looks different on a pc, in different browsers, etc. Still I looked at the site in IE, but the font for the links in the far left column are smaller than the other column. The scrolling text looks like a default text, a Times font of some sort. I like it though. It has a simplicity of style that is refreshing.
what ie do you use, 6.0? so the font is not arial but like times new roman? i like clean design. i've always designed my webpages that way. i don't like messy backgrounds, lots of pictures and stuff.
