that was the only one I had for you. but some time you might wanna check out "comets on fire" they are apparently a very aggressive psychedelic band. I've never heard em but my friend Mike who's a wrock writer says they're great. we were sposed to see them at the paradiso in amsterdam but it didn't pan out. Why didn't it pan out? Cause we spent too much time chilling in our hotel room. Just flat out missed it. too bad I bet they're really good. My friend is also in a really great band called everydaygreen. They ROCK in concert but their cd doens't really match up. Here's their website: http://www.everydaygreen.com I think they have some video cds that I made with samples of their music. If you write to the webmaster and tell her I told you about the video I made, I'm sure she'll send you one if she has one.
String Cheese Incident. Beastie Boys (if you can handle hip -hop, these guys are really cool). Ani Difranco (others have mentioned her but she's so awesome she needs to be mentioned alot )
Oh man, I was looking for a post like this... There is a goldmine of modern rock out today. There are probably some cool scenes in your towns. Check in a local paper for shows by local bands. There are also indie rock bands such as Modest Mouse, Pavement Sam Roberts etc... who are really cool and different from the norm. Modest Mouse is popular now, but their older stuff is pretty cool if you are into like... a half punk - half 90s rock sound. Check out 'Polar Opposites' and 'Broke'. Pavement is pretty cool 90s rock. Songs like 'Grounded' and 'Stereo' might attract a first time listener. If you are into more mellow stuff, some Canadian bands like Matt Mays and Sam Roberts have the sort of Neil Young folk rock sound. Very melodical and lyrical, while still pretty heavy. Check em out, hope that you like them. Peace
