Face masks which contain human fluids can easily become breeding grounds for all types of bacteria and viral infections. Putting them back on once the numbers have multiplied can then overcome a situation that your immune system could have coped with.

It can end up similar to leaving smoldering cigarette butts all over the place.

This is why opinions are divided on public use of masks. Already I have seen them littered on the streets.

Face masks stop the speak spit and cut way down on the arosolization of coughs and sneezes. Slowing the virus spread.

If what you are saying is true full face motorcycle helmets would have been causing sickness.

Been around for decades motorbike helmets breathing into them fogging up the lens creating the same conditions/

No I am not buying it. Never heard of any one getting sick from wearing a full face motorcycle helmet/

For some odd reason unbeknownst to me, the clerk at a smoke shop requested I take off my mask and take a puff of a disposable vape in his store today. I obliged but found it odd, that seems like a request they wouldn't even make in non-Covid times.

I thought something like that but he would have to dub the audio as well to turn my puzzlement into a dramatic meltdown.

I don't even ride a motorcycle but I know the wind drafts up under your helmet to create fresh air.

who in the fucking right mind will wear a helmet on a motorcycle that isn't moving let alone the people I see don't wear helmets on motorcycles when it is moving, this is Pennsylvania .

Sadly, few people fully understand how viruses work and how an epidemic where health services become overwhelmed can result in considerable UNNECESSARY loss of life.
We have had a couple of close calls over recent decades, so when corona 19 started to spread rapidly their was without doubt an element of panic.

The main problem is that we do not publish daily death figures (1,500 per day in the UK) so people were not seeing things in perspective to the normal daily figures.
The media did nothing to help the situation either.
We have around 750 deaths every day of every year, where a virus leading to organ failure is the ULTIMATE cause of death, but put simply, this is how 50% of us will ultimately die. The more that we do to cure diseases and the better we become at treating heart conditions and saving lives following accidents, the higher the percentage will become.
The only alternative is for us all to live forever.
Needless to say, viruses can appear to be very unfair and cause sudden death in a normally healthy person, but this has been happening since the dawn of time and their is nothing that we can do about it.
Both vaccinations and antibiotics can give us a second chance, but they carry their own risks. Taking unnecessary antibiotics reduces their ability to save as at crucial times, weakening our immune system at the same time.
Life is a difficult balancing game for every one of us, but adding stress to the equation will do more harm than good.

What you say is true, but masks not properly disposed of carry their own risks. In hospitals they are treated as clinical waste.
Motorcycle helmets are not a good example, since they have no soft filters where bacteria or viruses can collect. It is possible for transfer as a result of sharing a helmet, but since you are likely to be in close proximity to anyone who you share a helmet with, how would you ever know whether it was involved.?

I was waiting until I got the official word, but here it is: My mother has beaten the coronavirus. She tested positive about 2 weeks ago and has been in quarantine since, and was asymptomatic the whole time. She's 93 years old and has had a couple strokes in the past few years, but she's now officially recovered and immune and she's been moved back to her room in a nursing home. I hope that's good news for me genetically.

There is a downside however. Since her last stroke she has been slowly losing her mind to dementia, and by now it's pretty advanced. She will continue to deteriorate. Covid or not she's still on a death watch, but it's a long, drawn-out death watch. I have to say that dying from coronavirus would have been merciful, but physically she's still pretty healthy for someone her age and apparently her immune system is still pretty strong. All I can do is wait and see what's in the cards.

Sorry, Newo. I watched my father suffer from dementia. It is not easy to watch them slip away, knowing there is nothing you can do to help them.
