like you know at the doctor sometimes they do that urine test thing? can u tell u have been smokin' by your urine? haha dumb question but im jus wondering, because i might be goin to the doctors soon and uh...i dont want them to find out, cuz then my parents would find out! how long do u have to stop smoking so that it won't show in yer pee? haha??
dont worry, unless theyre testing FOR drugs, they wont find drugs. i dont think theyre even allowed to test for drugs unless they ask you
Right, doing a urine test for drugs is a search, which they can't do without your consent...and maybe not without a warrant if you don't give consent. I don't know, but even if they did test, and found drugs...if they didn't ask you/tell you they were running a drug test, the results aren't worth anything. Thank God (or really, thank the Framers) for the Constitution and Bill of Rights!
you have nothign to worry about, not only would they be violating your rights by looking for drugs in it, but they could NOT tell your parents even if they found traces of drugs. that would violate doctor/patient privacy.
Unless you happen to be a minor, in which case your parent/guardian could request such a test without your knowledge/consent....
woah i had no idea they could do that! the whole confidentiality thing just isn't valid if you're a minor or what? by the way, thanks for adding to posts like this, i'm definitely glad i know that now!
