I live in Washington State. We had the first really serious outbreak in the US and because we had an adult as Governor, we developed a pioneering strategy for addressing the virus. Contrast many other states where politics and money came first. Now over 3 months later as the counties slowly and with a planned road map reopen we are seeing an uptick in cases again. A common problem is the people, particularly young people are ignoring things like masks and social distancing so the Governor is mandating a mask policy statewide. Problems get resolved when a competent person is at the helm.

very true. And I would love to see a new President. I think though that the possibility of a second term is, well, possible... :(

Now we get to hear the Swedes say I told you so:

’World went crazy’ not following Sweden

"Sweden’s chief epidemiologist, who is largely behind the approach of keeping large parts of the country open during the coronavirus pandemic, says he was surprised to see other European Union countries close their borders.

Anders Tegnell, chief epidemiologist for Sweden’s Public Health Agency, described his country’s strategy in a program by Swedish public radio channel Sveriges Radio P1 as a “classic pandemic model” that he had been discussing with international colleagues for 20 years."

"A beach brawl erupted on Wednesday as up to 200 sunbathers fought in front of horrified families.

Police rushed to the scenic sea front spot at Orcombe Point, Devon in the UK after a neighbourhood officer spotted the youths fighting on a day when Brits packed out beaches as temperatures soared across the country.

Cops raced to the scene just before 7pm but it is not clear if any arrests were made."

I heard on the radio just now that there'll probably never be a vaccine for covid. Lol.

That kinda tells me, it's just as dangerous as a cold.

If 98% persons recovered from a cold, then why need a vaccine?

A common cold that has killed 126,000 Americans in just 4 months, is raging out of control, has hospitalized tens of thousands,
and is expected to kill a total of 200,000 by October.

The most vulnerable people need a vaccine, or a cure, what if you have a respiratory sickness or if you are above 70 ?

Finally the governors of Florida and Texas are listening to the medical experts and not the white house.

Florida Smashes Coronavirus Case Record: Nearly 9,000 Positive Cases On Thursday
    June 26, 202012:15 PM ET

Florida took a dramatic step, suspending the consumption of alcohol on the premises at bars statewide. Officials in Texas took a similar step Friday, requiring bars to close at noon and be available only for takeout and delivery. The order in Florida came as the state recorded another spike Friday. The state's Department of Health says 8,942 people tested positive for the coronavirus, the highest total yet, eclipsing the record of 5,508 cases two days ago.
