A few come to mind... But the latest I've discovered is the Moonshine Society's cover of "I'd Rather Go Blind" by Etta James

 

No need to say who did the original.

 

Not necessarily better but a different version of The Girl From Impanema.

 

Puff Daddy's cover of "Every Breath You Take" by Police.

 

I would not say better than the original but entertaining.

 

the Dead is one of my favorites

Woodstock by Crosby stills and nash much better!! (Although I heard it before the other one)

 

Going Up country on Woodstock was performed by Canned Heat not CSN.

 

This one is a toughie. I'd say Townes Van Zant's cover of Dead Flowers beats the Rolling Stones by a slim margin.

 

I heard “I think we’re alone now” at a Tommy James concert...great. But Tiffany really nailed It as a cover.
