*gulp* And there goes the last of Sherwood. Great fuckin beer. Let's see if my luck holds out, yeah? Yeah! Beer #2! (Alc. 9.3%) (Old Nation -Boss Tweed) Smell - Stone fruit and pine. Very light on the nose, hard to smell. Taste - Thick body of stone fruit and orange citrus fades into a peppery pine encore. Overall, my luck held out! This is another really pleasant brew. Late warmth, but early bright notes give it a nice flavor profile to go with the mouthfeel of that thicker body. Dangerously quaffable! - So, um, Boss Tweed? Yeah, I'm not even gonna try to find something hot or funny related to some corrupt politician from yesteryear. Great beer! Disappointing name... lol
Well. That was yummy. Wouldn't it suck if my last beer of the night was some shitty swill? I think so. But I hope it's not! I mean... it's my favorite label of the night!!! C'mooooonnn... Beer #three! (Alc. 8.5%) (Half Acre - Crocus) Smellin- Half-candied stone fruit with thoughts of melon. Once, there was pine. Tastin- Pine-driven stone fruit thought about grapefruit. Then later, warming the cockles...for just a moment. Overallin, I hate to say it.. but it's the night's most basic beer. Now, don't get it twisted... the night started with two marvelous beers, that I should've rated 1/2 a star higher on Untappd. So, when I say this is the least, it doesn't mean anything negative. It's a solid outing for this profile. But if I had to suggest something from tonight... it'd be the first two. But you'd still be happy enough with this one. ANY FUCKIN WAY Moving along. To the pic. I thought I was gonna say fuck it. But I found something instead. seeeeeeeeeee
Unless she's a total bitch Then the grandkids will say "So, she had the horns removed?!?!?! NOW it all makes sense"
Tried another lager. This time it was pretty good: It doesn't taste like liquid bread. It's smooth and light tasting without being "Lite" beer. Oddly, it has weirdness under the bottle caps: I have no idea why.
Interesting that they call it a session when it has about the same alcohol content as a Budweiser. On the other hand, Bud does get pounded like a session beer, so maybe it does make sense. Either way, it sounds satisfactorily pleasant. and it has those fun caps... that apparently will let you play Rock, Paper, Scissors if you collect (drink) enough. (Maybe I should do a specific session set of beer reviews sometime...)
BUT... we gladly don't have to drink that pisswater! Instead we have things like Session (which the graphics make me think 'skater') and the beers I drink. Speaking of that... Here's beer #1 for tonight! (Alc. 8.2%) (Singlecut - D.D.H. Full Stack) Smell: Mango and zesty citrus up front, followed by wheat and distant pine. Taste: Slight mango/peach and grapefruit pith are quickly joined by pine, which lingers as it turns into a dry finish. Overall, this thick bodied IPA smelled more enticing than it tastes, but it's still a pleasant, well-made brew. It starts fruity, but only for a second before the dry profile makes its way forward. - So, it took me a minute to find a pic. Which is weird. I thought it would be WAY easier to find hot chicks on stage at a rock show! Anyway, I did eventually find one. Except it wasn't a chick. Instead, it was this dude. Or, to most, a small insect. fuck yeah
I'm done wit dat beah. Currently enjoying the next one up for the night. Beer #2: (Alc. 7.1%) (Levante - Tickle Parts) Smell- Peach and mango run up, almost forgetting the tobacco way off in the distance. Slight dryness from faint pine. Taste- Subdued nectarine, tempered by distant tobacco. Benign hops offer a handhold while searching for hiding pine. Overall, this is a REALLY smooth brew. The flavor is thick, even if subdued and shunning the limelight. Great brew for lounging and listening to 70s vinyl. - I wasn't sure what to do for this pic. So, I just went with tickle fetishism. Seems fitting, no? Methinks yes. Anyway. Fitting pic is fitting pic...
And then, it was time for the last beer of the night. It's been a bit and a day since I've imbibed a wondrously wonderful stout, but here we are... in stout town. Beer #3: (Alc. 10.5%) (Pipeworks - Donut Soup) Smellserin - Dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla resting on a sweet malty bed. Tastin - Well balanced vanilla, black coffee, and dark chocolate. Pleasant malty sweetness balances the act with the help of very distant (and almost non-existant) coconut. Overallserinarangue - It's hard for me to call, as it's been a bit since I've had a stout and I'm just very happy to have a nice one for the first one in a bit. But it's really well balanced! (But still, it is "malty sweet", so it's not something to gulp.) - So yeah. With donuts? There's like, a million and 5 "donuts with hotties" pics. So, not a problem to find one this time around. I mean... who doesn't pose naked with donuts?!? lol Anyway... here ya's go...
Hey there! I was going to drink last week, but my timing got all messed up. I'm here now, though! Almost done with it, but here's... Beer #1: (Alc. 8%) (Stillwater - Mainstream Pop Song) Smell: Orange citrus and mango lead into dry hops with a pine showing on the back end. Taste: Stone fruit with distant citrus pith leads through woody/spiced warmth and just a moment of bitter hops on the back end. Overall, this was a little hard to figure out the taste, but I think I got fairly close. It's yummy, for sure. The body has a thickness I didn't expect, which I think leads to the kinda spiced taste it carries. Not a bad brew. . . . - pic time? - - I think so, right? - - right - - pic time. - huzzah pop music bitches
Ok, time to move on to the next beer already! Beer #2: (Alc. 7.2%) (Departed Soles - Kveiky, Bogan) Smells: Melon and stone fruit up front. Pithy citrus brings the bitter hops forward, leading to a gentle outro. Tastes: Stone fruit and citrus try to take the lead, but bitter pith takes the reins with help from dry pine and lead the way to a not-so-roughshod end. Overalls, it's a decent brew. It falls into the "Five Alive" category I've mentioned before, so not amazing. But it does have it's own character in that field. Not my favorit, but alright. Oh! And the pic! My goodness. I almost forgot! (Not really) (As always, I'm just wasting space so you don't see the pic as soon as you get to the review section.) Anyway... PIC!
Been done with #2 for a bit. About 1/4 of the way through... Beer #3: (Alc. 8.5%) (Captian Lawrence - Sittin' Plush) Smellerin: Honeysuckle and soil. Far distant citrus rests against the bulwark of subdued hops. Whispers of warm pine fade into the distance. Tasting: Honeysuckle and pith, with a touch of soil, ease forward against a backdrop of subdued hops. Swirling gently together as they drift off into a bitter distance. Overalls, it's an interesting brew that reminds me a bit of an Irish offering for some reason. I could be easily convinced I'm tasting a peat moss element instead of honeysuckle, pith and soil. It's different and interesting. I would easily suggest trying (and enjoying) one! - Last beer of the night. Last pic of the night. I won't even post a bunch of space filler. huzzah bitches:
I really like the color and tone of this one. I dunno, how the beer looks in the glass is fun to notice for me.
I totally get that! When Pressed Rat was posting his beers in here, I was almost guaranteed to want to try them based on the color alone. They all just looked so wonderful!
Speaking of beer (2 weeks later)... it's time for another round of me drinking! Tonight my beer has a theme. I mentioned it in the other forum I post this info in, but nobody replies to my thread there. But I think I'll just let y'all figure it out. (Shouldn't take more than 2 beers.) Anyfuckinway... BEER 1: (Alc. 8.1%) (Bolero Snort - Aurora Bullrealis) Smell: Mango and grapefruit with distant pepper notes, a little pith, and a little pine. Taste: Mango and citrus up front, with some pepper notes. Then soft, dry, dank hops fade in along with a bit of pine as the whole thing fades out. Overall, this is a pretty tasty brew. The hops never gets anywhere close to being too bitter and it has a pleasant dryness to it. The bitter notes can start building a little in the second half, but not too any bothersome degree. And it all has a bit of a candy-ish edge to it when sipped just right. ... You would not believe how hard it is to find hottie pics under the aurora borealis! I mean, there was some naked dude jumping (pic was from behind him) in one pic. But I suppose it makes sense that not a lot of people want to strip down in the far north, lol. So, the one I decided to use was not naked jumping guy. Instead, it's SO much cooler looking! See?
