I thought of a really good place to do art to be seen by everyone. I was watching a program about Ireland and over there they have murals painted on the side of their houses, eg, the last house in a terrace, etc. They could be seen by everyone because of their size and where they were. I think it would be a great thing to do.
murals in ireland are usually something to do with violence or what area you entering,there was some talk about getting rid of these eye sores but it`s getting some one brave enough to paint over them with something less intimitating,,,,,what a sad place "goole search belfast murals"
I wasn't saying that they should be copied with the same context and meaning. They are "eyesores" and "intimidating" because of what they portray just like the propaganda paintings in Iraq. Yes i agree there are an eyesore and serve no good purpose and just hinder the resolution of the troubles in Ireland. All I was saying that they are a good canvas to create art work you want eveyone to see, for example promoting peace, freedom, etc. If used to promote good they could have the same strength and power but in a good way. I hope you can understand wht im trying to say.
Cool idea a house close to me used to have an Urangatang(sp) on the back of it. I think it might be a sheep now but I'm not sure. Not as good as murial but hey, its unusual. Chances are a cool murial would get vandalised around here though.
