Well, I don't really want to get into what i dislike about Bush, everything I can say about his I have said inother posts. Just read through some of the threads and you will get an idea of why most of us at the Hip Forums dislike the man.
Respect is earned, not given. The reason why Reagan had such high approval ratings and was generally popular was by and large thanks to his charming personality, that's how he was marketed in the campaigns. His personality redeems him to some extent for me. I have some respect for the man, but I think he was a terrible president who made America feel it's alright to be cocky again. Bush doesn't even appeal to me as a person, Bush the man and President both suck. There are very few people I actually loathe but Bush is a good candidate for the list. The horse may still be thrashing around some more. Even if we do manage to hand over sovereignty by the end of June deadline, US troops will still be in Iraq, and there'll still be fighting.

While there were some good responses to this thread, I have to laugh at the people who have nothing more to say than how "bad" or "fascist" Reagan was. I don't agree with everything Reagan did, and like ALL presidents he was crooked in ways. But, he was also probably the most Libertarian president this country has had, and he did some great things while in office. He wasn't like Bush who completely fucked the country over, even though he started the ball in motion that has lead to a lot of the problems we are seeing today. But, at least Reagan favored a SMALLER government, which is more than I can say for most of the phony, special-interest pandering Democrats. Most of the people in these forums WANT the government to run their lives, so they wouldn't be able to understand the GOOD things Reagan did while in office. Then again, most people in the forums are all talk and know very little, if anything at all, about politics.
