Considering a new show on Netflix called "White Lines". It drops on the 15th (which means it should be available now) and I heard about it yesterday. Also, Madam Secretary's season finale is up!
White Lines is ok (Netflix). It takes place in Ibiza. An English woman's brother has been missing for years when his body is finally discovered in the desert. She believes the key to solving his murder lies in Ibiza. So she decides to go there alone to find out who killed her brother. The show is a stark portrait of the darker side of partying and life on the worlds most popular clubbing destination. And though I haven't been there personally, it's nice to see something that is so frequently misunderstood being portrayed accurately with finesse.
Vexed. It's a British comedy-drama about two bickering police detectives. Very funny and Lucy Punch is hilarious even if she is only in the first season.
Been watching After LIfe on Netflix. It sort of balances humour with serious, poignant issues relating to depression. Great cast, and great writing. Also been watching Normal People on the BBC, like millions of others.
Well, I've run out of seasons on Netflix of Madam Secretary as well as Designated Survivor. I'm still watching White Lines, but there are only 10 episodes in the one season streaming and I've watched 7 of them. Only 2 more to go! After I think I will watch some Grey's Anatomy and maybe try out Ozark.
"Money Heist" aka "Lacasa de Papel" which is a Netflix series by Álex Pina, who also made "White Lines". It's an interesting plot so far and I'm less than 10 minutes into the 1st episode of Part 1 (the seasons are called "Parts" apparently).
I watched How the Universe Works: Nightmare of Neutron Stars earlier. I knew a little bit about them before but the episode definitely expanded my knowledge on them and I found it quite fascinating. One of the most interesting things was what would happen if you fell onto a neutron star. Apparently, as you approached you would get stretched out similar to the spaghettification of falling into a black hole, however unlike falling into the abyss of a black hole you would fall onto the star and explode with a similar energy output of an atomic bomb. Now watching: How the Universe Works: The Interstellar Mysteries
I'm slowly making my way through Money Heist on Netflix, and rather quickly watching up the Greys Anatomy they have to offer too. Money Heist is good, but I bet it's better in Spanish. The English dubbed version is, well, dubbed. With that I think the brain detects an error and dismisses lots of the nuance of acting/performance. It's still cool though.
i watch the most series in german and you are right, something get lost in translation. It has no effect on the story but you miss the "slang". Some words or phrases you would say in this situation and in another language you wouldn´t say so. So somethimes the dialogues can be weird or you wouldn´t speak like this.
