When you find an UNSCRATCHED $10 Connecticut Lottery ticket on the ground...but doesn't win. Damn it all!
that's some very clean scratching. if i scratch a lottery ticket it looks like it was scratched by jackson pollock.
Aw man. I wish it had been a winning ticket. Would you have felt guilty for whoever lost it, in that case?
NOPE! Same thing if I find a wallet. If, by some chance, it has no ID in it...it's mine. All tickets say this on the back: TICKETS ARE BEARER INSTRUMENTS. ANYONE POSSESSING A TICKET MAY CLAIM ANY WINNERS. (So long as it isn't signed...which it wasn't.) My brother once found $320 US. I found a wallet one rainy Friday with like $282 or something. There was a supermarket receipt, but no drivers license or credit cards at all. To be fair, I myself lost a wallet once. In the area of New York City's Port Authority bus terminal. My photo ID was mailed back to me with no return address. Any cash I had was long gone.
If that's the Wednesday derecho, it missed Connecticut completely. I seem to remember one a few years ago which also impacted the mid-Atlantic, missing us then, too.
Had a river in my front yard again... Didn't even look to see the hail damage on my car. And most of the storm went around me, I just got the edge of it.
Here near Hartford was "boring". About 86 F/30 C, partly to mostly cloudy and borderline humid. We had a thundershower last night, but nowhere near what PA and NJ had yesterday...or Washington DC this evening.
