Little bitter are we?

You know for a holiday that was made up by greeting card companies. You seem to be taking it quite seriously. Just chill out and enjoy the day. Just because you can't celebrate it like the corporations want you too doesn't mean you have to be a sour puss all day. I'm sure you have some friends that you love and can have a great time with. Why even bother getting mad at it when that is no fun. Grow up a little bit and enjoy the day anyway!

hahaha I'm not really bitter but the point of the day... which was created purely to generate profit... so what do you do, personally I dont feel like being the puppet of soicety and just live to work and consume. I couldnt agree with you more about the bitterness, but I would also like to say that if there is no reason to be bitter about valentine's day there is also no reason to celebrate it by spending tremendous amount of money cause there are better ways to demonstrate your love for your significant other if you have the chance to have one.

Well put. I have a girlfriend and no we really didn't celebrate valentine's day. We ate at Bob Evans (oh it was sooo romantic!!) I have seen some people who take it so seriously that it makes me want to puke. If some of these people don't have a valentine they literally cry and make their day miserable.

grow up? tell me this. why do you consider someone being annoyed childish? I consider it a very adult emotion. Children don't notice enuff stuff to be annoyed. Adults are about %15 to %40 of the time. Think about it

20 years ago today, in an attempt to be romantic for his new lady, my father called from her bed to tell my mother he wanted a divorce. fuck the bitches on valentine's day. i'm sure that fucking whore thought it was incredibly romantic.

 

i know there's some men and women out there who just find it a fun and convenient time to do something special. just venting my annoyance.

 

Sorry to hear about your dad, that's just inhumane.

jeez pheonix cocker. no need to tell people to grow up. thats not gonna make anyones day better.
after writing this i went and walked in the rain with no umbrella, and ate a fancy dessert at a nice place alone.
you can totally be bitter and still have an interesting day. plus , being grown ups not all about having fun, good days and such. it's about being real, to yourself and others.

a holiday by the card companies to make the majority miserable . i see nothing wrong with feeling bitter about that. cheers

This will probably be the best v day I've had in five years; and I'm single this time around, and quite ecstatic I'm not in love with that psychotic she-devil any longer. Tonight's agenda is tequila and much celebrating. I'd rather be at a bar than some posh resteraunt having hushed, mushy conversations, pretending everything's going better than it really is, any day of the week.

Well I don't know how much happiness I can find in today knowing I have to spend 12 hours or more on a project for my Operating Systems class, CS majors can be the devil. My happiness will be when its done :sunglasse

Today will be another rainy day in my city....Now last weekend? That was my valentine's celebration days. THE BEST EVER! Last year, I dated no one and I guess it wasn't too bad. Valentine's Day is what you make it. It can be the best day of the year, or just another day. Even though you should love everyone EVERYDAY, Valentine's Day is just a calendar reminder, just in case you forgot. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO EVERYONE ON HIPFORUMS!!!!
