I think wages generally are floored. How can a footballer or sports person, etc be paid millions of pounds a year and a brain surgeon, etc who saves lives everyday be paid a small fraction of that. Or how can managers be paid alot more than manual workers who in my opinion have the hardest work to do. I agree it is very difficult to determine wages but i think the whole system needs a rethink. How can footballers be paid millions when there are homeless people within the same country with literally nothing. Or how can it be justified when there are millions of people starving to death in Africa, etc. I think that if everyone who was paid more than something like £40,000 a year should have to pay at least one weeks wage a year to a charity or third world country. Imagine the sort of money that would have been created if every person in that bracket was forced to pay a weeks wage to the Tsunami appeal. I think that everyone who can afford to, should pay 10% of their yearly wage to a charity or third world country. Imagine the amount of good that would do.

    What do you think?
