I didn't put the Sex Pistols on there. They have become way commercial and are way over-raited.

I'm with Ruben on this one - The Sex Pistols, and even though they became commercial they played a massive part in the punk movement. As a band they embodied everything punk was about. Most of the bands you named weren't even around when the punk movement started.

None of the ones listed, maybe New York Dolls or The Velvet Underground, but I'd have to say Alice Cooper, he inspired the fuck you attitude well before the punk movement started, although Alice Cooper was a bigger influence on metal.
I have to disagree with the Sex Pistols, one must look at bands before them, the Sex Pistols were punk, so who inspired them? Or at least thats what I think

Sex pistols are only commercialised by people that were not in the band, Nevermind the Bollocks is the punk album and the Clash were a pile of shit. The Ramones were great. The only thing is, nothing on Bollocks is as good as the Beatles Revolution from 10 years before.

Ok people......I never said the Sex Pistols didn't play a part in the punk movement. I didn't say they didn't play good music. I just chose not to put them up there.
