McCain was a true patriot. I didn't like most of his ideas or policies, but I can respect him and his convictions.
onceburrned doesn't like him becasue he refused to kiss Trump's ass. Period.

    Your ignorance is breathtaking.

  4. There's almost more variations on political leftism than genders!

  5. I think his jab from the grave is what convinced me McCain was seriously psychotic.

  6. So, who are the potential write-in candidates on the democratic side?

I'm really asking who on earth Biden can select as VP that could possibly galvanize the votes instead of having the likes of the "Bernie Bros" sitting out the election in"protest"? Does such a democrat exist?

I still say Gabbard is exactly the sort of body guard Biden needs for the white house. I bet she will toast Trump, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a veteran and despise hangnail dodgers.

Warren? Oh hell no. Again, the stepmother gene merged with the ex-wife gene. It's just too much.

Beto might be effective, but not as much with the Bernies.

Bernie as VP might draw in the votes, but he'd have to be in Biden's ear while he debates Trump. And Bernie likes to yell a lot. Can you see Biden on stage with Bernie screaming the perfect rebuttal to a Trump jab? I can. Pure popcorn.

But Six continues to lump them all together and over-generalize. Let's look at the list. Globalists? I thought multinational corporations were into that. The Republican Party has been helping them outsource and ship jobs overseas. Republicans Responsible for Shipping American Jobs Overseas and Outsourcing Its the Republicans who have historically been the big boosters for those free trade deals. Eugenicists? Most folks associate that with right wingers, Hitler and white supremacy types. Attributing that to the left is downright libelous. Malthusians? I suppose he means environmentalists who believe that overpopulation is a problem, which many do. But there's quite a wide range of opinion there. Lots believe the demographic transition will help alleviate the problem. Marxists? Nobody has taken a head count, but my guess is there are about as many of those on "the Left" as there are Nazis or neo-nazis on the right. I abhor Marxism and all totalitarian ideologies. Keynesians? Some are, some aren't. Wasn't it conservative Republican Richard Nixon who said "We're all Keynesians now?" Socialists? Well, the Bernie wing, but not likely a majority. He dropped out of the race, you know. Eco-fascists? What the hell does that even mean? Is Six saying all or most people who could be described as "left" are authoritarian environmental extremists? Communists-in-denial? Now he's descended into name calling. Islam-fetishists? Given his Islamaphbic obsessions, Six himself might qualify for that one. And so goes the rest of his rant.

What this obviously is is a transparent effort, typical of his posts, to stereotype, overgeneralize, and name call. Blah, blah, blah. Where is he drawing the line? Does he seriously think those labels apply to most liberal Democrats? "Liberal Democrat" would probably fit me (center-left), but I don't eat soy products, am certainly not a Marxist or a Socialist, nor a body-posititivity-activist (whatever that is). I've never burned our flag (which I revere), nor given myself over to a Putin ass-kisser preisidnetial candidate. I'm a proud Social Justice Warrior, which is a good thing. Better that than a SIW (Social Injustice Warrior, aka Ayn Rand-style Libertarian). But I don't support PETA, Antifa, or open borders. And I'm fine with the two traditional genders. With such a broad, nebulous working definition, no wonder there are so many varieties of "leftists". It's a catchall for everything Six doesn't like. I'm surprised he didn't fit the corona virus in there somewhere. The same could be done with "rightists".(See post #7398) What's the point? Six is up to his usual tricks of pejorative labeling and polarizing propaganda. .

Hmmm. You think McCain was still jabbing from the grave? Sounds kind of psychotic to me--or maybe just paranormal. Is this a job for Ghost Busters?

While we are on this, could you enlighten us and define what a genuine Republican is, that way we could understand?

IDK wtf you are talking about, but down here in Miami (where we have a Westchester in Miami-Dade County), almost all of the blue collar Cubans are right wing and Trump af. I have pics on my phone of them parading in the streets, blasting country music from their pickup trucks with topless girls in the back and Trump written on the side of their vehicles when Castro died. Also, I don’t remember any blue collar Cuban I know talking good about Mexicans, Guatemalans, or any of the like. I worked in that community (again, WESTCHESTER) for years and they are all racist af.

I’m not excusing it or agreeing with it, I’m just telling you what I saw and experienced... In what? Yes... Westchester in MIAMI. Not south of Bronx, nope, SOUTH FLORIDA.

Honestly, I could care less. Neither man is fit and neither man shares my ideal or vision for the future, so why tf would I vote for either one of them? That’s the way I see it.

Cuz we'll get one or the other, and one is, in Bernie's words, a "decent man" and the other is a monster.

The incident did happen back in August, 2015. Dozens of Apaches and Navajos, protesting McCain's role in passing a last minute provision to the National Defense Authorization Act of 2015, and changes to their tribal water rights. The Southeast Arizona Land Exchange Bill would have allowed mining interests to build the largest North American copper mine at the Oak Flat campgrounds, an area of spiritual significance to Apaches. That much is true. The odd thing is that OnceBurned, who calls McCain a RINO, is pushing his story to discredit the late senator, when McCain was acting like a good Republican. John McCain was, relatively speaking (for a Republican), an honorable man and an outstanding patriot in many ways. But he was indeed a true conservative Republican, subservient to corporate interests and much more in line with traditional Republican values than the current President, who has no principles that he lives by except his own interests. McCain was, after all, the Republican candidate for President and long-time Republican Senator from Arizona. What else could anyone expect? Is OnceBurned advocating the cause of those Native Americans or criticizing the Republican Party for backing the mining companies? Or is he just keeping up with the current Trumpian party line and using anything he can to bash McCain because the late Senator dared to cross the Dear Leader. I'm sure OB wasn't even aware of his hypocrisy and revisionism. He doesn't think much. He just emotes.
