Coricidin HBP v. reg. cough medicine?

so what's the diff. between tripping on coricidin and something like robitussin? when i was younger i did both a few times, and found i got way more fucked up off of the coricidin...but why? and could there be any long term effects from it? just wonderin!

 

Coricidin, even the HBP formula, has active ingredients other than DXM that can make you sick enough to wind up in the ER. Stick to the Robitussin CoughGels or Maximum Strength syrup; both contain 15 mg DXM and no other active ingredients.

 

coricidin is notorious for having other ingredients besides DXM. It is very stupid to take products that have other actives besides the DXM. You could really get hurt. Products like coricidin HBP (HIGH BLOOD PREASSURE) DO NOT CONTAIN DXM. However it does contain Chlorpheniramine Maleate which if taken in high does can cause bleeding through your skin, ass, or vagina.... or maybe if you're lucky you'll to get all 3. It also contains Acetominophen which in high doses causes kidney failure. Jesus christ didn't you read the fucking box???? Did you even know the drug you were looking for before you ingested it??? You should've done MUCH more research before taking, or at least read the fucking box. This gives responsible drug users a bad reputation. If you want to do DXM take a product WITH ONLY DXM.

 

woah, woah, woah...I took it when I was a dumb, inexperienced 16 yr. old--about 6 years ago. I'm not gonna take it again...or robutussin for that matter. I don't even do drugs anymore (besideds drinking), it was just a goddamn question purely of curiosity.

Actually, InFlames, only the Cough & Flu formula doesn't contain any DXM.

You'd have to be stupid to take Coricidin in any form. That's the difference

 

that makes me stupid then haha. my friend convinced me to take coricidin cough and cold(aka triple c's) with him last year. 3 of us did it and chilled at his house and i was trippin balls, i thought my friends feet were a blue flaming skull and i imagined this random jogger came up and introduced himself to me. that was followed by 3 days of running to the bathroom almost shitting myself.

 

hmmm, then what is in Coricidin "Cough & Flu" to treat cough???

 

um, can i ask how many you took? because when i took the most i ever took of them, i never actually hallucinated--just couldn't function too well in society...couldn't understand what people were saying at the worst part and everything was fucked up (blurry, no sense, etc.) and i never had bathroom problems...i was just extremely exhausted afterwards. i know now that i will never take cough medicine for recreation again. it's not worth it. i still honestly feel that it's gonna catch up with me in the long run.

and inflames, i understand...i just don't want to be lectured/yelled at for no reason...

 

@PhotoGra1: The same thing that's in the rest of the Coricidin products, but with the addition of 15 mg DXM Hbr.

@yesplease: To what extent did you experiment with DXM? Unless you developed a long-term habit of ingesting large doses you should be alright.

 

5.....only 5.....my friend took 7 and his brother took 12 and they only felt mild effects but i tripped balls.
