No, a ventilator is used on someone who has been intubated. A CPAP is just an air pump that runs continuously. It can't mimic breathing in and out the way a ventilator does.

First of all, that all depends how it was predicted. It doesn't make them by definition more qualified or legit, no. You simply for some reason want to portray it like that.
Secondly, nobody called an expert in a specific field an expert on statistics in this particular and unique situation.
Thirdly, just because a country's officials go with certain measures based on what the experts (not just one mind you) say doesn't mean all countries go with the same measures. So here too discrediting the experts makes little sense.

You can repeate this stuff endlessly as if you're trying to convey something important (reminds me a bit of stormountainmans approach of how he tries to break it to people how bad republicans are), but what kind of significant truthbomb are you pretending to drop? That the experts are wording stuff in a particular way to avoid making it clear they don't know exactly how it will go. Uhm, but who thinks otherwise? And is it done for dubious reasons? Now, lets look at what's the use is of you acting like you share some important truth about them (experts, government or health organisation officials, or their spokesmen) not saying how unclear it may be. And mind you, most are honest about the fact it is unclear. It's part of the reason they word it as they do.
