Hi. Can someone recommend a good brand. I usually buy Violife but my local store is out of stock. I'm not sure about Daiya b/c I've read it was bought by a pharmasutical company. I'm sure I didn't spell that right. Haha.

If it didn't come from an animal, it ain't cheese.
It may be healthful, flavorful, melty, yummy and shredded, but it ain't cheese.

I don't particularly like the vegan cheese I've had on the Whole Foods pizza that I've had there. It's mooshy and weird.

But I am totally plant-based, and eat no cheese! :)

Personally, I would rather not have cheese anyway. It's funny. I used to really like cheese. Now it's just not important enough.

I can't say that I've ever had a vegan 'cheese' that was worth buying. Nutritional yeast does the trick with some things, but mostly I think it is better to just avoid it.

I tried Dayia at a demo. It was plasticky and VERY salty.
    Pass.

I have made ricotta style vegan cheez from cashews, and I’m seeing a lot of aquafaba (bean water) cheeses on YT.
