    Greetings All,

I'm taking a side-trip from Amsterdam to Belgium and read that they have a three-gram rule, whereas you can have up to three grams of smoke on your person, subject to a small fine. Is it safe to travel accross the boarder to Belgium with a small stash? Are they fairly liberal concerning smoking?

    Thanks,
    Robert

hi there robert, they don't have passport checks anymore since the formation of the european union. I was over there last yaer and went from amsterdam to brussells and germany with alot of smoke. I see no problems traveling around with some smoke. most countrys allow small amounts anyway enjoy your trip, I'm going at the end of april for queens day and then off to a spring beer festival in germany!! can't wait mike

Last time I was in A'dam it was just a short stop on our way to Luxemberg. My traveling mate was pretty skeeved on the idea of me bringing any pot with us, but I didn't have any problems at all. I didn't bring like an ounce of anything like that.. but I did have atleast a quarter of really stinky green and a few grams of hash. Be smart, be safe, have a blast!

    Peace,
    Ganja_Goo

Thanks everyone for the replies. I didn't think it would be a problem. I just like to play it safe. Most countries in that part of Europe are pretty tolerant of marijuana for personal use. It's too bad the U.S. can't see the benefits of taking a similar stance.

    Thanks Again!
    Robert

I have heard of busts at the southern border with Belgium. But they are looking for the big time smugglers.

I've carried stash from the midwest to California. I go wherever with it, I just stay low of the boys in blue. Most States are decriminalized so, it's a ticket

well it's not a problem unless the man w/the dog walks up to you and starts talking to you. Or the dog suddenly does a 180 jump 3 feet in the air and lands on your backpack. then there's a problem in that they will take your stash and, if you got there right before the train arrived, you will miss that train. just don't lie, they'll be cool. they'll even ask if you want a receipt for your weed. another train will come along.

I have a question along the same lines -- what about bringing weed from Amsterdam to England? I'd imagine it's not quite as easy, but I understand England has sort of eased up on their pot laws lately. We'll be flying from the Netherlands to Britain and might take some stuff with us if the biggest problem is the potential for a small fine. Any experience with this sort of thing?

I have been through Belgium to Netherlands and you hardely know that you are passing a border. There aren't any stops (you can see where they used to be, and there might be a patrol car there, but that is all). Nothing to Germany either. I did get stopped once on my way back from Amsterdam into Germany. I was still a little high on mushies. No problem. they searched the car, but the polizei were very friendly.
