Hey all, Well.. just three days left until I'm on my way back to A'dam! You guys have been insanely helpful and I am forever grateful for all of the advice - especially those money saving tips! I just have a quick question.. the last time I was there we ended up having to stay in a really small/seedy little hotel - it wasn't at all bad really, it just looked like a hole in the ground is all But anyways, on our street we would pass Barney's and I believe a place called Pink Floyd and maybe even the Doors? I could be wrong about the Doors though. But anyways, one of the places that I ended up going to rather frequently was called Pop Eyes....? Does that sound familiar to anyone else? They didn't have anything out of the orindary there, but the guy behind the counter and I ended up chatting quite a bit, so it became a regular place for me to visit and smoke up before I went out exploring some more. The only reason I ask it because I have never heard anyone else refer to it and because no matter how hard I look, I can't find any info on the internet either. It's not really a big deal either way, I was just more curious than anything else. THANKS AGAIN! Ganja_Goo
*searches* I think.... that it might be out of business.. I found a referal here: http://www.coffeeshop.freeuk.com/Database/ShopsB/Popeye.html But their website (http://www.coffeeshop-popeye.nl/) seems kinda dead.. and the weird thing is that I can't find them in the phonebook (www.detelefoongids.nl) no matter how 'wide' I'm searching. Easily obsessed as I am, I looked them up at the official registration thingie for businesses as well (www.kvk.nl) and according to that they still exist and aren't shut down or anything: Naam: Eethuis-Coffeeshop Popeye Vestigingsadres: Haarlemmerstraat 63 Vestigingsplaats:1013EK Amsterdam KvK-inschrijfnummer:33233748 0000 Soort inschrijving: Hoofdvestiging Sooo.. that's about it But no.. I've never heard of it myself.. cool that you've become familiar with the owner/bartender and stuff.. yeay!
Yeah Popeyes is alive and well its right opposite Pink Floyds (and I'd always recommend PF's over any other coffeeshop in Amsterdam!) Jon
Oh wow, looks like they renovated a little since the last time I was there! Thanks again guys for all of your help! World of peace, Ganja_Goo
