Maybe the solution here is leisure trips ...a cap on them. For example, in Canada, your first year in @ job you receive 10 days off work. So two weeks including weekends. What if this rule applied to presidents? So they only get 10 days of leisure trips, after five years, they get three weeks per year. Be like the rest of us who schlep.

In my country both supporters and opposers of such a president (prime minister) would object and take issue with such a spending of tax money for a private event. It's just ridicilous! Why can't we compare? I'm not saying its the same, that's actually why i gave the example. It doesn't have to be like this. If enough citizens really want something like this (president spending too much tax money on private party) and would actually act upon that want, stuff like this can be changed. It's not a change you as a country in your current position can make in a day though.
That you're powerless on such matters now is because too many Americans believe this and act on that belief. I wanna add that i don't mean to toot my own country's horn by saying the majority would take issue with it here. Here too change regularly doesn't happen because people insist it's hopeless.

 

Another thing is that this number is all speculative. In February 2013, Obama took a leisure trip for 4 days which cost tax payers 3.6 million. They, the media base each number for trump leisure time based on this bar set from what I can gather.

The elite had to adapt to a majority of ordinary citizens in the past (also in your country) and that can and will happen again (perhaps not in your country ).
