There are a few things that really bug me about eating out. I hate having the waitress assume that I want an alcoholic drink. It irks me to no end when an attendant starts to spray cleaner all over a nearby table, and have the particles drift onto my plate. Noisy people....telling the whole room their business with mouths stuffed full...having the waitress look at me like I'm from outer space when I ask for non meat, and she suggests peanut and butter jelly. Bad acoustics, and loud horrible MUZAK....too bright, or sunshine in my face....kids who run amok...food that does NOT resemble the picture on the menu...a pesky waitress...or a waitress who vanishes...chlorinated water dirty windows and door handles..dirty anything.....I have more, but I have to go peel garlic...for some tortellini....feel free to list peeves...about dining gripes.
I hate going out to dinner. and i dont get that bad waitress video. You wouldnt get away with it here, you shouldbnt get away with it at home??! YOU FUCKIN BITCH!!that was funny.
Work in a restraunt.... people who go out to eat are some of the dumbest people on earth.... and they think that just becuase someone else is cookin for them and they have to pay for it, that they can have whatever they damn well please even if its not on the menu.... its one reason i dont like people in general.... but remember.... the customer is always right.... no matter how wrong they are....
hm, i hate it when the server takes WAAAY too long to refill my drinks or bring the check. or if it seems like they are trying to rush me out. or if they are snobby.
My pet peeve is directed towards fellow customers rather than the wait staff. I cannot stand when people walk into a restaurant, order food, eat half of it, then claim there was a problem and try to score a free meal.
Uh... it was a public service announcement for domestic violence. You can't beat the shit out of your waitress... you shouldn't be able to beat the shit out of your Susie.
So true... people are always on the assumption that the customer is always right and that is the mentality that customers have... so they can do no wrong.. and then suprise there major jerks and usually wrong and rude..
Tipping should be reserved for exceptional service only. A Patron should not be expected to tip for average service. Tipping should not be used by Establishments to deceptively understate prices by 15-20%. ie: including 'usual/customary' Patron tipping when calculating waitstaff compensation.
Most of the problems you describe seem to be most likely in really cheap restaurants... I usually avoid those. More expensive restaurants have good food, rarely have kids running around (although if there are, chances are the brats are the rich, spoiled kind ), certainly don't use disgusting cleaning sprays... If I can't afford good food or don't have the time for a sit-down dinner (usually when I'm just looking for a bite to eat on the road), I usually go to Burger King or Taco Bell, where I *know* I'll get a burger & fries or some taco's in a paper bag... and unless it's really cold I prefer take-out and eat it sitting outside some place rather than at those ugly-ass tables amongst the noisy kids. Mom & pop places in small towns are an exception to this rule; I've been in quite a lot of small, inexpensive restaurants in the midwest where you certainly wouldn't find people with cleaner spray and didn't see many kids either; mostly farmers grabbing a bite to eat.
i can say that i don't have any pet peeves about eating at a restaurant..not a single one.. unless i found like a bloody bandaid or something in my food, then there might be a slight problem..but other than something nasty in my food, then no matter what, im pretty good
You do realize that most servers are paid an hourly wage of around $3 an hour right? I say, bad service, maybe around 12%, but hardly ever do I tip below 15% Good service - 15 - 18% Exceptoinal service - 20 to 25%
Yes I did and I disagree, so do lawmakers. If you were to raise the minimum wage of waitstaff up to that of non-tipped positions, say $6 in most states - I think you can plan on a fair amount of restaurants going out of business.
i always leave a tip no matter what..even if my service was bad or slow.. i see the way some waiters or waitresses get treated, its not to nice sometimes..and i wouldnt want to wait on anyone, so I always tip them...
Oh well, that's the breaks. Maybe yall both lack logical thought processes...what else is new? Maybe some should go under. Do we really need a fast food sit down joint on every corner? BTW, this practice is seen at $10/person as well as $100/person places. The minimum wage arguement is hogwash. I'm waiting for the AG to address the Deceptive Trade Practice issue...no, I'm not holding my breath.
i usually tip 20 percent. rarely do i go below 18. however, one time dan and i had a 80 meal with drinks and all and i tipped a dollar. why? because the bitch ass waitress would NOT look at me... not at all. she was constantly checking out dan and when ever i tried to say something to her, she would speak and look at dan. i mean... hello? im the one paying and giving you a tip... if you wont even talk to me.. fuck it.
To each their own I guess. My staff is very happy with what they make in tips and the customers are happy in providing it. Then again, you've probably never been a customer where I work and I'm guessing you probably would have a problem with it. But, like I said - to each their own, I disagree with you
