personaly , ill beat the tar outta my kids every day .....if i can ever intimidate some foolish wench into being my punching bag - baby factory ....think ill move to utahn start a poligimist compound ......life is beautifull n folks sure are nice ....aint they
again we are comparing peas to carrots here. first someone was comparing smaller dogs, and then someone was comparing a hamster, now yall are comparing humans to pit bulls?? its not the same. humans have rational thought. dogs dont.
right, humans have power over their instinct dogs don't...but both can be bred into having a killer instinct...a human generally has more control though. think about say, the Marines, they bring the killer instict out in humans, they train them to fight......not so different than a fighting dog....the main difference is that when the fight is over, the marine should be able to stop fighting, while the dog never will.
we are talking about a breed of dog that is bred to be killers. no matter how you treat your dog, they have that natural instinct to protect. like you said, karma, you live out in the middle of nowhere. your dogs dont even have regular contact with strangers. if you bring your dogs to the city, youd have more issues to deal with. and Im sure youd be really comfortable about having your dogs in town, with how many people and kids there are, just even walking down the street.
if i realy wanted killer guard animals .....how bout waldo the misanthropic high testosterone baboon ....sic em waldo........ouch!!
but, can we be sure that there is not a violence gene that is passed down from generation to generation in humans? Its a nature/nurture debate
look all humans are killers ....the ones in the factories n mines that make the wepons and the mothers who suckle little killers n workers in the death machiene ...nothing has or will destroy for no reason like homo sapians......weve even left toxic nuclear waste too kill off whatever is left after weve gone ....i say good dog kill em all
When I lived alone in a bad neighborhood my boyfriend at the time got me a pitbull to keep untill his place sold and he could move in with me untill I got rid of my place he could get a place for both of us. it was supposed to be his dog but it didn't like him and loved me. I loved this dog like nothing else and I moved back home instead of in his new place because we got in such horrible fights about the dog and he would threaten to take him from me if I left him. My pitbull ended up becoming very violent and went after kids and tore my golden retriver apart so bad he had to get stiches. After the third time, animal behaviorlists, lunging after kids and chewing through a metal fence to try and get the neighbor kid we had to have him put to sleep. I love pitbulls they're my favorite breed because they are so loyal to their owners and are way smart, so intuitive that they're human like-but it's not worth the risk for me to get another one-I couldn't go through that again.
we had a really nicely trained pit, the sweetest damned dog EVER. then one day she snapped and attacked my brother, my sister and my niece. the only other dog we ever had snap was half pit. my husband has owned 2 pits in his life, both of them he had to put down for attacking someone, and he adores his dogs. do i think they should be banned? not really. people do need gaurd dogs. but i'm not buying one as a pet.
Alright... whew. I think I have a lot to cover and I'm know I won't get to it all in this post. Like I've said before, I think any dog can snap at any time. Pitbulls were not bred for fighting. That was not the reason of the whole breed. Why do you people keep trying to make that point?? I've owned several and they were never for protection alone. Of course, that was part of it, as with most every dog I've had, but not the main reason. They have been gifts to me actually. The only problem I've ever had with a pitbull was with other dogs. Strange dogs. Not any of my other dogs. They are very teritorial. They protect what is theirs. Their people, their home, what ever. I wouldn't take my dogs to live in the city, but I've surely taken them around plenty of strangers. I've taken these dogs to parties, festivals, flea markets. Anywhere I am welcome, I would take my dogs. They are well behaved and friendly. I have no fear about them attacking, as long as they are not provoked. I'm not talking about a child throwing rocks, pulling tails, because that has happened. I'm talking about someone threatening my saftey or what they know to be their home. I don't consider my pitbull any different than my german shepard or my little black dog, of which I have no clue the breed. LOL Who ever mentioned what I said about banning guns... how rediculous. I also believe that nearly every human should own a gun. That is my protection really. My dogs are my company, my family. Of course, they would protect as much as a gun if need be. Banning guns, banning a certain breed of dogs... will never get my vote.
